Well hello everybody!! Andy and I just got back yesterday from our amazing honeymoon and all I can say is, we could have stayed there forever! We had an amazing time, did lots of fun stuff, ate WAY too much food and bought plenty of souvenirs. I think in total we took around 400 pictures and that includes our photopass photos! I just had the CD sent to us and had it shipped in 1-2 days, so hopefully it will be here soon. In the mean time, I'll start off the trip report with a little introduction for those of you who are just joining me! If you wish to read my pre-trip report go here. (By the way, we did get plenty of towel animals/creations all week long!)

Now I don't have my official wedding photos from our photographer yet, but I will post one of my favorite pictures taken by someone else! Somewhere along the trip report I promise to post a bunch of photos of the wedding for everyone to see :goodvibes

Who?
15142_1259275286617_1371691499_7276.jpg

Me (Taryn): 23 yrs old, and lover of all things Disney. My parents raised me on Disney movies and yearly visits to WDW, resulting in my current obsession. I have been to WDW about 14 or 15 times, Disneyland once and Tokyo Disney twice. My dream is to also see the Paris and Hong Kong parks, but that’s way in the future. Currently I am the holiday manager at Coach but hope to be working a full time permanent job in January. I love spreadsheets and charts and that’s how I’ve managed to plan our wedding and honeymoon!

Andy: 24 yrs old, loves me and now loves Disney! Andy had never ever been to WDW. In fact he is not a fan of theme parks since he worked at Paramount Kings Dominion several years ago. I had to explain how they are so different and WDW isn’t just a theme park, it’s a way of life. He went along with it at first but later admitted that he had a lot of reservations. Within a few hours of being on Disney property he was sold! He currently works for a printing company, doing of course printing but also dabbles in graphic design.

Why?

Why not?? Honestly when it came time to decide where we were going for our honeymoon, I knew all along that I had to go to WDW. Andy wasn't completely sold on this idea but when I started to show him our other options we either weren't interested, couldn't take that kind of time off or it was too expensive. In the end, WDW won and he relented. Now that we are back, he already ready to go back next year for Halloween!

What?
Hmmm....I'm at a loss for a what. My last one was about the title of my pre-trip report, but this title is pretty boring lol.

Where?
We stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside and let me tell you it was awesome! I wondered if it would be as nice as a Deluxe resort which is what I am used to staying in (when my parents are footing the bill) but I couldn't believe how great Riverside was. It was so beautiful, so serene and just perfect for the two of us for our honeymoon!

When?
We were married on November 8, 2009 at 4:30pm! The very next day we got on a plane at 7:00am for our Disneymoon! We stayed from November 9 to November 15, 2009.

Well, tomorrow I will hopefully start you guys out with some of our first day shenanigans! Until then!

Congrats on your wedding. I agree that POR was a great place to spend a honeymoon. My wife and I honeymooned there in Oct 2006. We loved that it seemed like another world. We stayed in Alligator Bayou and really liked how quiet it was. It was such a huge resort but we never felt like we were surrounded by a bunch of people. We also had a quiet pool right beside our building. Bring on your report. I will be watching for it

Congratulations!! We will be staying at POR in a few months, so I am excited to hear about the resort! Can't wait to see wedding pictures as well :lovestruc

Ooh subbing, sounds like you had a great time, can't wait to read more :)

Day One (11/09/09)

"Wake Up, It's Time For Disney!"

Wahoo! It had finally arrived, the moment I had been waiting and planning for, for almost a year! Now if you read my post up above, you would have seen that I decided to make us go to WDW the morning after our wedding, which in retrospect probably was a little much. If I could have done it again, I might have given us a day off, but really it was the only schedule we could work with since Andy could only take off a week from work. It worked, but man were we tired!!

The night of our wedding, we got home and DH went to sleep around 11, while I hoped in the shower to wash the pound of hairspray out of my hair and blow dry it since we didn't have much time to get ready in the morning. This meant I didn't get to bed until midnight. Amazingly enough, I actually did sleep! I thought I'd be too excited but the wedding day wore me out.

At 4:30am, my alarm went off and I got up to straighten my hair and finish packing all the little things we needed. I woke up Andy at 5:00 so he could get in the shower and be ready to go at 5:30 when my parents arrived to pick us up to take us to the airport. When we finally arrived at the airport we checked in at Airtran, went through security and found a seat at our gate by 6:00ish. Since our flight wasn't until 7:00am, I went to a bathroom to put my make up on so we could take our first Disneymoon picture! Please ignore Andy, he was not excited about having his picture taken so early in the morning :lmao:

Once we got on our flight, I was a little worried about DH. He does not really like flying but relented to his wife's request. (I did not want to spend our honeymoon in a car for 14 hours down and back!) In fact, Andy did a lot of things that were out of his comfort zone this trip and I am so proud of him because in the end I think he really enjoyed more than he thought he would! He did just fine on the flight and actually managed to squeeze in a cat nap before we landed at 9:00am. As soon as we landed, we made our way straight to the Magical Express to go to WDW!

Getting on the Magical Express was amazingly easy. We were put straight on a bus without even waiting in line. We probably sat there for 15-20 more minutes, with only a few more families boarding before we headed off. While waiting on the bus, Andy made me take a picture of the guy's radio because it said "Rad," which Andy thought was.....well....rad!

We were on our way and it wasn't long until we saw my favorite site in the whole world:

The only downside to the whole ME trip was that we were the last stop on the bus. It stopped at Saratoga Springs, Old Key West and Port Orleans French Quarter before it FINALLY dropped us off at Port Orleans Riverside. A minor annoyance only because I was itching to get to our resort and start showing Andy the "magic of disney" :woohoo: Once we arrived, we headed straight to the check in desk where their was no line. The friendly CM welcomed us and proceeded to get us all straight. First she asked me if I wanted my KTTW card to say my maiden name or my married name. Of course I wanted my married name! I was so excited to see it officially printed on something for the first time. Then after a few more minutes, she says the best sentence ever. "Your room is ready right now! You are in Alligator Bayou, room 1716." Now I had planned on the fact that since we were arriving so early, we probably wouldn't be in a room until after our day's events, but this was music to my ears! We graciously thanked her and made our way to our home for the next week.

Here are some pictures we took along the way:

The marina where we could take a boat to Downtown Disney.

The walk to our room from the lobby was not bad at all. I had requested a different building but this one suited us just fine! The route was very scenic and it was not very far from the marina, Riverside Mill (Foot Court) or the buses. As soon as we got in, I snapped a few shots before we hit the bed. As much as I had planned on heading straight to Downtown Disney, we were so tired and a nap was in order!

Around 12:30 I forced DH out of bed because we needed to go eat lunch. I didn't want to wait too late and risk being too full for our ADR at Raglan Road. So we got up and made our way over to the marina to catch our next boat. Of course right as we had the boat in sight, it pulled away from the dock, so we headed into Fulton's General Store to check out the merchandise! I snapped a few more photos of course:

Thank you so much! It's a 1950's Vintage Wedding Gown! I fell in love the minute I saw it. I'm assuming you are a fashion student by your little thing above your icon! I graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising :goodvibes Here is a better more detailed view of the dress

Cool that you got to go to your room straightaway, POR looks really nice.

Looking forward to reading more :)

I know I should finish up Day 1 but I'll get to it tomorrow probably. Instead I wanted to update with photos from the wedding night of our getaway car!! If I don't do it now I may forget later. Even though we had a 50's wedding, Disney managed to weasel it's way in there very often. I had a Disney Princess Bridal shower (pictures in my PTR), and before the ceremony when guests were arriving and being seated, we played music from the Disney Fairy Tale Wedding's CD. Also my bridesmaids walked down the aisle to Love is A Song (instrumental, same CD) which is from Bambi.

Here was my car at the end of the night!!
