TARGET toy sale???

So funny you should post this. I was just talking to my daughter who was in Target this morning and got some really great deals on clearanced toys to put away for Christmas. She lives in Indianapolis, but I don't know if all of the Targets do their markdowns at the same time.

Thanks! I live in Fishers, so I will hit up Target tonight, since I have to go to the libray next to it anyway. :)

I intentionally stopped by my Target yesterday due to this thread. (Like I need an excure to visit Target.)

Toys were still in their regular isle and were 30-50% off. I still bought many items that were 50% off because I don't know when I'll be able to get back. I just restocked the 'gift closet' and only bought one item which I may give to my middle child. Now I just have to make sure I remember to use the 'gift closet'.

No 70% off for me, either. Maybe next week??
I picked up some Lego board games at 50% off, though, and a few other items that didn't look like they would make it to 70% off. I'm going to check back next week. Also waiting for the baby items to go down. They are currently at 30% off.

I got a couple things today marked way down. May have been 70%, but was def more than 50%. Some of the other stuff was still at 30% and 50% tho. Guess I will try again Thursday to see if any more is marked further down.

My target now has a majority of toys for 70% off. They did not make a specific aisle. Toys are mixed in with new stickers reflecting 70% off.
I live in Virginia Beach.

I really expected my store to hit 70% today, but I was there at 10 this morning and nothing was happening. No sales associates even in the vicinity. Toys were still at 30 - 50% off and in regular aisles. Scanners were down, so when I tried to check an item price, I couldn't. Asked an associate and he had no idea about any markdown happening anytime soon. He said maybe next week?

This was my experience too! I was there at 11 this morning. Toys were 30-50% off. Scanners were also down. :sad2:

I also went to a second target in the same city. They did not mark down to 70%. Scanners were working, so I scanned some of the same items I had bought at the first target. They were not scanning 70%. Weird. Oh well. Only bad thing about the second target trip was that I locked my keys and purse in the car!

Scanners weren't working at our Target either. That was a little frustrating. And it was weird to not have a designated sale aisle, but just looking through all the aisles looking for the red tags. There were some things with 70% off stickers, but a lot with 50% off too. I did get a few things, but nothing like previous toy sales.

Horrible experience at Target today. Went specifically for the toy sales, and found no good deals at all. Still stocked my cart up with a whole bunch of random things. Get to register, and not only were the scanners down today, but they were not able to accept check as a form of payment. I could not find my red card (the checking one), and the woman said they couldn't look up my account but I could just write a check and she would manually put in 5% discount. Well with the systems not working correctly today, it would not accept check as form of payment. I didn't bing any cards with me. I had to leave my cart filled with bagged groceries. So mad I wasted my day, and also embarrassed myself in front of a long line behind me.
Also, there were about 5 employees going crazy in the $ section, trying to change it all out...thy were not happy about something. I actually felt like I was in their way, and had to skip the bins and shop in another section.

Stopped back this morning to see if there were any changes to the toy prices, since I was seeing so many people posting on facebook about it (All Things Target). Still 30-50%. So, maybe it isn't happening or will happen next week? All I can say is I'm getting tired of running back and forth to the store! I was there last week expecting it to happen, then this Thurs. (expecting it to happen)...oh, well!! Good effort!!

I got a few things 70% off at one store. Drive to another to see if they had anything else. They had the specific toys I was looking for, but their system was down and couldn't do the markdown. Called this morning and they said their system was back up. Had them check the prices of the items I wanted, but they said they had not been reduced any further. So annoyed. At least I called before I bothered driving out there. Not sure why some stores went to 70% and others didn't??

Stopped in at both of mine today and found some 70% that wasn't before.

I was able to re-buy 5 things I'd gotten earlier and then return them with the first set of receipts for a net refund of $16.30+ .98 tax-- plus the total was just over $50 so I used the coupon they sent recently and got a $5 gc free!

Alas, I confess, I also bought a couple of new things... MLP wedding castle for $10.50 down from $35 was irresistable, so that will go in the gift closet til next May for DD6's #7 bday along with a Merida crown set for $4.98. Got a Crayola crayon maker DD6 has been longing for for $7.88 down from $26- that's gettign added to her Christmas stash. And also a few other little things for stocking stuffers and "you deserve a treat"s.

BUT, most of the things were in their regular sections, and I had to know where to look/really hunt for them.

It was pretty frustrating waiting for them to get 'round to it, and I'm glad it's over, but content with the end haul. :)

Stopped in today, but didn't expect to find anything. There was no dedicated clearance section but I found Monster Fighter and Avengers Legos 50% off. As for items that were 70% off : Apples to Apples and Blokus travel games, some mini Lalaloopsies, a Find It game (kids version), and some small items like sparkle pens/decks of cards. Oh, and some leappad cartridges/ac adaptor/carrying case etc...

Overall, it was a nice surprise. There were a few other people meandering around, but nothing like previous years when people would practically grab stuff from your cart.
