Target stores are the absolute WORST...

It's funny how people are getting on my case for me being rude and inconsiderate. :confused3

I think a sweep of the aisles should be more of a last resort- if it's been 10 minutes since closing and people are still shopping. However, doing those sweeps the second the clock strikes 10pm is an entirely different thing IMO.

Go to a Publix, and you'll see what I mean. They lock their doors at 10, but allow those to finish up and they still answer any questions and offer the best customer service until the last person leaves. Most of the shoppers are aware of the closing time because of the announcements, and they are considerate and hurry as fast as they can, and they're done within a few mins.

I am also not sure how staying an extra 10 minutes is going to kill the employees. Don't they get paid for their extra time?
Yo - DUDE!! you ARE inconsiderate!! Why should you be able to shop 10 minutes after the store closes? I just don't "get" your attitude?!

And what is "Publix"?

And I am pretty sure the Target employees who want to leave right at 10pm are not leaving to pick up kids at child care.
How the HECK do you know that?! And you didn't answer my question, you just dodged it. So, please answer it for me. Are you ok with a store employee losing money just so you can stay after hours? This situation is not out of the realm of possibility.

It's a shame that after all these years, you still think I am a female. I guess I need to post here more often. Just so people at least know my gender lol.
Then what's the problem????? Everyone knows men hate to shop! :teeth: My DH would be thrilled if they pushed him out the door. He'd tip them and send a thank-you card. :goodvibes

Perhaps if you have a real problem with this you could got to the store manager and talk to him/her about it and see what they have to say, because it doesn't seem like things are going well here for you and I'm afraid this is all going to end badly.

publix is a grocery store.

Nile what you need to realize is that your time isn't more valueable than the people working at Target. Accept the fact that the world doesn't revolve are you.

And as for Publix being better than Target, how many millions does Publix give to charity every week?

Hey.....were you on Dr. Phil last night?

Am I the only one who thinks the OP is being obstinate just to :stir: ?

I work retail part time and my store would never usher you out, in fact I will provide you with amazing service, but trust me, I don't like doing it and will probably have a poor opinion of you. My Mom watches my daughter for me when I work Saturday nights, and I feel terrible when I pick up my daughter later than expected.

Your Publix may be super great, but if you do this often, they probably hate it when they see you coming.

Because they don't need to pressure customers. There are a lot of stores who don't pressure at closing time. Target just isn't one of them.

I forgot to mention the tactic (and flatout lie) that "our registers shut down automatically" at xx-o'clock. I've heard that one a couple times too.

Yup, sure sounds like he's a regular store-closing shopper. It would make sense, considering when he gets off work. I understand running into a store before it closes to get something you need - maybe not having time the next day to go before work.... but I don't understand being mad at the store employee for just doing his/her job by telling you a simple fact - that the store is closing. :confused3 How is it pushy to tell you something that is true?

I can't believe what a debate this has turned into. Unfortunatly OP I think you lost this one.

I wasn't aware there are child care centers open at 10:30 at night. That's why I said it was a stretch to compare the two, and not worth answering. Apples and oranges. However, If it WAS a situation where an employee had to get a child from child care (at 10:30 at night??) then Target can let those leave, and have only people who don't mind staying (and make extra $).

Just because I think a store should give a few minutes of leeway to those who were already in the store well before closing, doesn't make me inconsiderate of others. We're talking 10 minutes here people. I am not asking them to stay open an hour late so I can take my sweet time and purposely tick them off. I already said I try to hurry as best I can when I know it's 10pm. I just think the aisle sweep right smack at 10pm is a little unnecessary.

So I guess I am now a "rude person, inconsiderate person, an elitist". What else have I been called in this thread? Oh yeah, a girl. :rotfl2:

Well I can assure you I am none of the above.
