I remember reading on here not too long ago.. is there a limit you can spend in one day? Like...could I go in there and spend $600 worth of Disney gift cards? Or is there a limit? Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

The 5% discount does not apply to gift cards...plus your bank might have a limit on your debit purchases.

The 5% discount works on Disney GCs but not on purchasing Target GCs.

There is probably a daily debit limit set by your bank. Target also sets a daily limit on its customers' debit cards but they like to keep the amount a big secret. You will only learn what the limit is for your card if you ever try to purchase more than your set limit.

Thank you! :)

The terms state that the discount does not apply to "Target gift cards and prepaid cards". I have heard of people having to get store manager approval, having to call customer service after the transactions to get a credit, and some people not getting the discount at all. Just prepare that you may be faced with those challenges...maybe not.

My Target doesn't offer the discount on any gift cards, so I didn't think it was worth additional hassle to fight with them about it.

Disney gift cards are labeled as Entertainment Cards, and fall under the application of the 5% discount.

I actually do believe the debit card does have a limit, however, only initially. At first, I think it's $300-500, and once you've used it or had it a bit, that extends? That pamphlet is here somewhere...

The only people that I've read about needing a manager's approval in order to get the discount on their Disney GC purchase are the people who exceed their REDCard limit. In that case, a manager can extend the discount to the amount over the customer's REDCard limit when the customer chooses to pay the balance with another form of payment.

I just purchased over $1K in Disney GCs at Target yesterday. I paid with my Target charge card. The discount was definitely applied to my purchase without needing to get a manager. I just swiped my card to pay for my purchase and signed for it. It's not as if anyone needs to "push" it through like a coupon ,

Yes it works, and no you do not need a manager's approval. It works in the system with any cashier. The cashier may say you cannot do it (because they are misinformed and told it does not apply to gift cards, which Disney cards are not at Target), but ask them to run it anyway and it will work. Unless you are going over your limit, there will be no problem.

I have twice bought Disney Gift cards using my RED card and my Pharmacy 5% discount (together). Bought $1500 worth.

You are asking about the Debit card. Yes, you have an undisclosed limit when you first have the card and forevermore. It doesn't matter if you have millions in the bank. Your bank does not set your Target Debit limit. Your limit evidently involves number of purchases and dollar amount of purchases, over time, and of course, don't bounce purchases!

I could only use my Debit for $300 at first (which ruined my first big Disney card purchase plans:sad:) but within a few months I was able to buy $1500, then a couple months later, $2500, with no problem. I am just a regular Target shopper [I do go in several times/wk as it's a block from home] - no crazy big purchases except the Disney cards :rotfl:.

All you have to do is convince them to scan the items and have you pay, and they will see that it works. The Disney GCs aren't "gift cards". They are "entertainment" cards, and they are coded differently in Target's system. The management at the store you go to needs to stop thinking and start scanning. :)

Right! And they may not even notice you're using a target card. If they ring them up and you just pull out your card and swipe it, it'll just go through! Lol

I never say anything or ask about the discount. I just pull out my REDCard and pay. I'm sure that we will read about here (ad nauseum) if the day comes when Target stops giving the 5% discount on Disney GCs with the REDCard.

Oh I know lol, I mean for the people who say their target doesn't accept it. If you just swiped it and didn't say anything about it and acted like you are just paying with a normal card... I don't know lol, they may not even notice
