hey all-

I bought the 3 wii game a few weeks back when it was buy 2 get one free. Now I find out dd wants the Dance off wii game and not the american idol. Of course I cannot find my receipt so will they be able to locate the order with my debit card or does it have to be a credit card? thanks so much

Even if the products are the same price, they won't let you do a one-for-one exchange. They'll return the "sale" game for a reduced price based on what you actually paid for it then you have to buy the new game at the current price. If you still had your receipt you would see the discouted return price listed.

all the games were $49.99 and I had the $10 off coupon. the dance game is on sale for $29.99 this week. I guess I could always buy it and put the american idol game away for her bday if its not going to come out the same.. thanks

I'm not sure how'd they do the exchange, but they should be able to locate the transaction with the card you used.

FYI, Target allows you to return up to $70/year without a receipt. So you should still be able to return it if they can't look up your transaction.

When Target does the buy two get one free promo, they take the price of the free game and divide it by 3 and then take that total off all the games. So if you bought three 50.00 games, they each would cost 33.33. When you go to exchange one of them, you will only get credited for the 33.33. You would then have to pay the difference if you want to exchange one of the games. This happened to me recently when I wanted to change one of the games I bought.

So I think Target's buy 2 get 1 free promo should really be when you buy 3 games save 1/3 off each.

I like TRU buy 2 get 1 free. They ring the free game up as 0.00 and you can exchange one for one with no problem.

Literally, the scan your card and look at the transactions they have for that card and ask you oh, was it on such and such date? Very easy.

I actually just did this. I returned a $49 game that I got buy 2 get 1 and with $10 coupon and exchanged it for another $49 game. There was no problem. She scanned my receipt the scanned each game and I came out owing nothing. I was worried about having to pay the extra but it worked out right.
