Target gift card problem...any ideas!

I have a Redcard, so I bought some Target gift cards online and then bought some Disney gift cards through Target's website so I could get 5% off. Each order kept getting cancelled, and when I called, they informed me that I can't buy a gift card with a gift card. So. I have $350 in Target gift cards. Any ideas?

Buy the. In store where it still works.

It's been like that for awhile now. All you can do is go in to a store and buy the Disney gift cards at full price or use them for other things.

I asked the rep if I could use the gift cards in the store to buy gift cards and she said no. So you can?

I was just able to buy $600 of gift cards in the store using Target GC. You can absolutely do that with no problems.

The computer system at the in store registers will let you. DO NOT ASK PEOPLE AT THE STORE. It is against Target policy to do gift to gift card purchases now. Those who have problems using target gift cards to buy Disney gift cards have issues because a cashier or manager tries to stop them from completing the transaction. Stay under the radar at the store and you should be fine.

You can even purchase them at self-checkout to avoid the whole cashier issue altogether.

I only know what I read online on Target's Disney gift card purchase page "You cannot use a Target GiftCard to purchase this card" and what the manager at my Target told me and refused to budge from when he prevented me from making a gc to gc purchase. I had another Target as an option so I let it go. My best advise to OP stands and is still to stay under the radar in store and go ahead and try making their purchase.

I had the same problem the past three days. I bought Target gift cards via Raise and then tried to get the Disney ones online and within 15 min. I would get the cancellation. I called them twice and FINALLY the person said you could not use the gift cards to purchase other gift cards HOWEVER I had been doing this for past two years....last time being June of this year. I was always under the assumption that the Disney gift cards fell under entertainment cards so that is why the Target gift cards always worked along with the 5%. SO I guess sometime after that...they stopped. So now...I have some to use up too.

I need to buy stuff at Target anyway, like laundry detergent. So I buy detergent and a Disney gift card. I use my target gift cards and then pay the balance which is the cost of the detergent. You can do the same thing if you shop at Walmart.

Are you saying that you can purchase Disney cards online with a target card, if you put something else on the order as well?

Unfortunately buying gift cards on the Target website with or without a non-gift card item added and paying even partially with a Target gift card no longer works. The entire order is cancelled within minutes. This started within the last couple of months. I tried it again just last week to see if anything changed and nothing has.

Can I still get the 5 percent for using my red card? Better than nothing I suppose.

If you are paying for those GCs completely with your REDCard, you will get the 5% off. This works both online and in stores.

No, I do mine in store. I haven't tried online with buying other stuff.
