Target discontinues Red Card Discount for Disney Cards? Edit: Nope just out of stock!

Has anyone heard this? I purchased a couple hundred dollars worth of Disney cards just last week using my Red Card and got the 5% discount. A poster on a different board said she just tried and they told her no discount. I think she was doing it online but it still use to work online too.

We seem to hear it monthly! And it's never true. OF COURSE the Target Employees are going to say no red card discount on gift cards if a person asks. "Ask" is your key to knowing the info is no good. If someone says they actually purchased with a red card & didn't receive the discount then we'll know the tide has turned. You can try a purchase yourself online to see if the discount shows on the page right before final purchase confirmation. If you're really concerned (and in store) buy 1 gift card and check your receipt for the discount, if all is well go buy the rest of what you want. Be not freaked by others doing/asking dumb things!

I bought a large amount of Disney gift cards last week at target using my red card (got the 5% discount) and gift cards ($700 worth), and I ended up having to go to customer service for the transaction. The cashier said sometimes their registers are weird about trying to cash out that quantity of gift cards and it is best to do it at the customer service desk for large quantities. Not sure how true that is, but it is worth keeping in mind imo.

Well the OP figured it out. She was trying to buy $100 value cards online and they were out of stock! Yep silly people everywhere!
