Target is giving a 10% off coupon to military & veteran families, just register on the site, coupon is good from Nov 7 - 11
https://corporate.target.com/corpor...ersity-inclusion/military-and-veteran-support

Exclusions apply, from the site:
"
Offer is valid for a single use at Target and Target.com through Nov 11th.

*Excludes alcohol, Bose, CVS clinic & pharmacy, dairy milk, DSLR camera & lenses, Elf on the Shelf, select games (Cards Against Humanity, Joking Hazard, Exploding Kittens, What Do You Meme, Bears vs. Babies), gift cards, Google products, GoPro, LEGO, LG OLED TV, Nintendo hardware & Switch software, Playstation 4, prepaid cards, Sonos, Target Optical, Mobile contracts, Traeger, Tylenol, Weber, WellieWishers, Xbox One, Xbox One X."

Now for the all burning question will it work for Disney (or other) gift cards? Don't know.
I thought before that when Disney GC's where excluded they said "specialty gift cards" or something like that. I'm not seeing that here, I just see the usual gift cards (ie TGT GC's) and prepaid cards (ie Visa, Amex, etc). But I haven't seen a %off coupon in a while, has the wording changed?

But at least it's a nice discount even if it doesn't work on specialty gift cards.

Thanks for the heads up!
I really wish I knew if it worked on Disney Gift Cards before I bothered uploading a DD214 (Target has had security issues before)

thanks. I hope no security issues, but nice of Target. Most other stores, can just show your ID, and they give you a discount. Odd Target wants to review your file and birth info before saying okay in a follow up email. Odd that Target would rather do this then to train checkout to recognize and give discount. But, hey, 10 percent there is not a bad deal.

That's a lot of effort for a coupon. I assumed since it was a ID check site you'd input your ID#, it'd check the database for validity and then email you the coupon. (since it's a 1 time use)

Well, I hope it works out for everyone.

Curious now, so I checked the SheerID FAQ's and this is probably most relevant:
"We are looking for official documentation that clearly shows your first and last name, a date of birth or discharge/retire date, and a clear affiliation with the military. We strongly suggest any documentation sent to us have sensitive information blacked out before it is uploaded to our system. Uploading documentation to us is optional, but without something to verify your credentials, we will be unable to successfully complete your request."

Not being eligible myself I don't know what all the web form asks for but if you need to upload a document, it's only looking for a couple things and then black the rest out.

Even with a social security number blacked out...my DH's name, DOB, and exact military service dates is a lot of info to just put out there. Also, a little pain in the behind to get the DD214, black out info, scan it in, etc.
That being said, if it was going to save me a lot of money, then yes, but I don't have a big purchase from Target right now that would fit in the listed categories unless Disney gift cards are allowed (I actually just bought a few things under the 25% off a toy...the rest of the Christmas list is not Target stuff).

ETA: It is still really great of Target to offer, and I understand the need to verify! But I might personally pass

I used this discount today online. Not on a gift card though, don't have one. The only big store we have in my area is Walmart and Target is over an hour away, and no malls, so I typically have to order online anyway.

Will be watching what Target offers on cyber Monday.

Thanks. I registered. If gift cards don't work, there's plenty at Target I already buy. :teeth:
For those concerned about security. SheerID is used by a lot of stores to verify military status. I know I'm already in their system through Footlocker with 2 teen boys who love shoes. I've never had an issue.

regards

I was already register with SheerID so I didn't need to give much info to get verified and get the coupon. I was able to use it to get several gifts checked off my list. I hope other stores go to this in the future.
