when and where can passholders sign up for the taping of the christmas parade

Ah, nope. THat's not how they did it last year. On the AP site, there was a link to the production companys site, where you could send an email to them, asking to be part of the parade/festivities taping. There were maybe 6 time slots that were spread out over three days. You could check off the time/date that you preferred. The Sat slots filled very quickly since that's the day they tape the parade. I was put in the early Friday morning slot. You were sent a voucher/email thingie, that got you in at a particular turnstyle...where you were split into groups and led to 'your' area. My group was at the castle for the show tapings.
Sure, if people came in later on, I guess they could join the group, but they would be in the back area, so not so worth it. With the parade taping, they lined the streets with those that had gotten their confirmation emails, then as the day progressed and those people got tired and left, other, not preselected so to speak, would fill in.

I can't remember exactly when the announcement came out on the AP site. I would keep checking in and just see. Good luck. It's not something I would do again....way too much standing in one place for hours on end, and sporadically looking excited and clapping as a camera passed overhead. My poor old back and knees couldn't take that much standing!!!

thanks i know from past tapings that i have seen at the parks you don't just show up it was a sign up i think i remember someone posting before it's in november sometime

It should be the first weekend of December, but I don't think I've seen an official announcement yet. We're just watching for info because we'd like to do it next year.

So do you know, if only 1 person in the family has an AP, how many vouchers can they get to be up front? We don't all need AP's, but I thought about getting one for myself or my husband for discount purposes, and he and I will both be visiting twice within the year, but not the kids.

I can't say for sure about how many need to have the AP...just be aware that nothing is going to assure you an up front position. I think it's more of who gets to the website and emails first. And last year those early Sat spots went FAST!!! So, keep checking on the AP site, every day if it is important to you and your family.

what is the AP site? We all have annual passes and have never received the monitor or anything. where do we register for that and what is the site? will be there Dec.2-8 and would like to know what site to email about being in the parade too. Just over 3 months to go...Can't wait!

If you go to WDW official site, there is an area you can click on. You enter your AP info and you are sent to the AP site.

sskem96....I think I misunderstood your question. If I remember correctly, last year, when I filled out the questionaire for the taping, I was asked how many in my party. Since it was must me, I didn't pay any attention. So, you may be able to have several people given vouchers to get into the taping but just one person have the AP to access the site to sign up. Hope that is what you meant.
