Well unfortunatly today it appers that it is official, the WDW web site has removed the Tapestry of Dreams Parade from their Epcot World Showcase March Park hours. The last ToD appears to be 3/1/03, I will have to re-arrange my itinerary for my March trip to catch the last parade. What's next?

Oh, please tell me they are adding something else. I still have magical memories of ending our last trip in Epcot with the parade and fireworks...

Hey, spike@okw. Where yat. We'll be there from 2/28 - 3/5/03. Was planning Epcot on 3/2 but maybe will have to HOP over to see the last TOD. Happy Mardi Gras :jester:

Does the WDW site have anything in it's place or just Illuminations. (I'll hop to that site later)

WOW a fellow YAT @ OKW! yesdisneyfool, we will be celebrating Mardi Gras at OKW this year as well. No, their is no listing of another parade a Epcot. Go figure.

Well, until Tapestry of Nations/Dreams, there had never been a parade at EPCOT before anyway, so it does not surprise me it is not being replaced. Just disappoints me. I wonder why it was decided to stop it.

"Special" shows, like TON/TOD come and go at EPCOT, though RweTHEREyet is correct that this was the first actual parade. I remember "Surprise in the Skies" a daytime fireworks/ultralight plane show. Some sort of show is probabably in the works for either summertime or next October.

Seeing ToD was our favourite thing to last trip (April 2002). My dd (8 at the time) said she didn't want to go near Epcot before we arrived. When we got to WDW, dd and ds (2 at the time) LOVED Epcot better than the other parks. We ended up at Epcot to see ToD and Illuminations THREE TIMES in April 2002. We loved that parade so much. We video taped it one and a half times. My kids love watching it. We actually just watched it yesterday and I listened to the music today. I just read about ToD closing this very moment. I am sad, but I also look forward to the next thing they have up their sleeve so I can start planning my next trip! S

Our last trip (for a week) we arrived to the parade route alittle late. My DD was asleep in the double stroller so I couldn't get anywhere near enough to see. My DH took DS on his shoulders so they saw it and liked it. On our last night we went back and arrived early for the parade. Sadly, it was cancelled because of wind :( . We are going to WDW this March and I was counting on seeing it then.....:(

Fireworks (a/k/a "IllumiNations : Reflections of Earth") aren't going away, just Tapestry. Nothing yet announced to replace it, but that doesn't mean there won't be. Remember that Epcot is going through a full overhaul, and I imagine that a new parade or happening of some sort will be included.

I planned my next trip (2/23-3/4) around the finale of ToD. I have been watching Tapestry of Nations/Dreams since the beginning, and have become friends with some of the parade CM's. Epcot is losing a good thing with the end of ToD. Many rumors have been circulating about when/if it will be replaced; nothing, IMHO, will ever be a replacement for the original ToN. Time will only tell!

Glad you will be there for the final ToD parade. Please "watch" it for me too. I can only be there in spirit. It will be a very sad day!

I just told my DD7 that the parade won't be there in June when we go. She burst into tears!!!! Shocked me. We had been fortunate enough to see the parade twice and thankfully have it on video. But she *loved* that parade and the interaction the puppets had with her.

If you have seen it and don't own the Milllenium CD, you should try to get it. The parade music is on there and brings back wonderful memories when you listen. Not sure if it's still available at WDW but may be available on Ebay.

CHUCK S;

I am so glad someone remembers the daytime show with the ultra lights at Epcot,. Everytime I mention this to someone they look at me like I was nuts. It was a great show. It is just ashame that one the pilots had to crash and die. It was a very unusal show and very surprising when they came flying over.

Well, this just breaks my heart. I will be at EPCOT in June and was lining up all the times for my PSes around ToD. We saw ToN three times on our trip two years ago. I took out the old pictures and was listening to the CD to bring it all back to me, and now I find out I won't get a chance to see it again. I suppose I should be grateful we saw it three times. If you haven't been there, no one can adequately describe it. It was just perfect. :bounce: :(

When my daughter called me last night I sadly told her that TOD was going down. Well she already knew. News travels fast and those in the E-Village had already heard because many either had performed in it themselves or had friends who performed in it.
BTW E-Village is where the entertainment castmembers live while in Japan and working at Tokyo Sea or Disneyland

I was really hoping that ToD would run thru March.....We are going the 21st to 29th. I have the same wonderful memories. My Wife and I danced by the fountain France to the parade on our honeymoon in 2000. I wanted to go back to that magic ...One more time. I DO HOPE that Reflections will still be there......

Tapestry of dream was our favorite parade. It had the coolest CM. We have enjoyed their performances tremendously. The way they involved the kids by making the mask and going through different country gave the children another appreciation for the different cultures and as a result brought more families to the world showcase. So Here I go again I have to write and complain and maybe if enough people do it they reconsider or atleast replace it with something as good.

My plane lands at 5:30 PM on March 1 and I'll be able to do my checkin at All-Star Movies and hit Epcot for the last TOD parade without waiting for the buses.

LOVE the Millennium CD. I'm glad I bought one way back when.

Oh, and I'm at OKW too, from March 2-5.

My kids also loved going to the different countries making the masks, I did not consider that that would be going away as well. The kids had a great time creating them, and gave them the chance to speak to the CM's of that country.
