Awww.... thank you for sharing that. Our first baby was a similar situation. She was born at 38 weeks, 7 and a half pounds, died before birth with no explanation. It was devastating. It would be nice to have something to remember her by in our ceremony, I'll have to think about it.

We also feel very blessed to have our two children since. But still, it is a loss that will always stay with you. When we lost our daughter, my mother talked a long time about a baby my grandmother lost, and how it always stayed with her even, as a sister. It's something that's always with you- time does heal, but not completely, you know? When the time of her birth comes up every year, I still grieve.

But it really impacts the marriage- we got so much closer going through all of that. And part of this vow renewal is a celebration, of not just being together and our joy, and our living children, but of our strength, our pain, and all we've suffered together in life and held on through, the child we lost, and the other loved ones we've lost along the way. I imagine that is similar for you as well. It reminds you to celebrate the good things while you have them too...

It is so hard to explain what I've been through to someone who has not suffered the same kind of loss. Many people don't understand. It is definitly one of those things that has defined who I am and has had a huge impact on our lives. And I still grieve all the time too. The hard part for me is that his birthday is right before Valentine's Day and my DH's b-day, so we struggle each year to make it through the month of Feb.

I am glad that you have been blessed with such beautiful children. It really does make you cherish everything more!

lorelei had a pair of pink ones like that, but from wally hole. and of course they had the princesses on the inside of them. she loved them and was so upset when she grew out of them!

Kenzie had a pink pair that was shiny but not glittery. She got upset about growing out of those too! She is going to be super excited about these.

I guess being a southern pageant girl, there is no such thing as too much or over the top, tacky, or too sparkly. I am easily distracted by shiny objects!

Wow I just read through all of your pj. Let's see, I'm a year away, more now actually, and very excited and I want to do so many things, but dh is like nah, we've got time to talk about that stuff later. The cake is such a cute idea, and your dh did an amazing job on your dd cake.
Your shoes (all of them) are gorgeous. I can't believe you made that tiara, it's beautiful!!!! The ring in the slipper is so sweet, he did a good job there! Your wedding day looked so great! I'm thankful you are healing from the accident. Hugs about your grandma.

Plus we are pretty much healed up now! Thankfully, that's when I feel that God and my angel Michael were watching out for us. I still have some work to do on my ankle. I'm going to suffer in my blue heels if I have to!!!! I am wearing my shoes!

My granmother is a tough old bird. She's hanging in there and being strong.

Ok, so I am such a dork! But I am totally excited about my hair extensions!!! I am way to lazy to grow my hair out that long again. It take too much work and time. But I want to have princess hair for our VR and MK pics.

So my extensions came today and I was playing with them. I got to put them on and do a quick hair style. This is basically what I want my hair to look like for our VR. I put my tiara and jewelry on together, and I was SOOO EXCITED to see it all put together!


I am going to get my hair done in about 3 weeks, so I won't have roots showing for my VR and it will be spaced out enough that I don't have to get it done twice. My hair dresser is going to help me even out the highlights in the extensions. These are all just clip on ones by Jessica Simpson, and they are fabulous. I cannot wait to see it after my hair stylist helps me fix it all up!
Here are some pics - please excuse the lack of make-up. I was debating about doing a full trial with dress and all, but I am just didn't have time earlier today.

I love that after I did this, my dd told me I had beautiful princess hair!

love the extensions! they look pretty darn good! i think we had them here on our home shopping cahnnel once before and it was hard to get a gage on them. but they look really great!

Not really! Check out the baggage under the eyes!
Luckily I was blessed with great skin, and I avoid the sun as much as possible. It's really sad when my British cousin has a darker tan than me!

Speaking of which - we have had a busy, crazy week! For starters, we went to the beach and my cousin Bryony took some pics of us. I love family pics, and they are pretty rare.

Being there has gotten me really excited about our cruise. I can't wait for the VR. I can't believe that it is so close!

Then, I got to see Pres. Obama. He came to my little tiny town for the opening of our Solar Power Plant. It was like the biggest thing to ever happen here! We had all sorts of news people and secret service men, protesters, and more! So exciting. This is probably the only time in my life I will ever have the opportunity to see the President. It was very, very cool.

Drew's Tux and shoes.

I bought him a decent pair of shoes at Wal-Mart of all places. We tried on a few that were a little dressier, but he said these were the most squishy. So squishy it is. I also made him an appointment to have his tux altered, but we didn't need it! He's grown so much. The mickey vest is still a little big. But I can alter that myself. I don't know if I should tea stain his shirt though. It is still white and everything else is ivory. Will he look out of place?

We also bought him black dress socks today. There are so many last minute things I need to do. It's coming so fast.

I found a website where I can order flowers wholesale for CHEAP! I can also order rose petals in bulk. However, the roses come with guard petal on them that have to be plucked off, so I may not need any extra petals.

This is for our reception.

The cost is $10 for 25 roses. I am going to get various shades of pink. Here's the trial bundle that my DH bought for me. He's so sweet.

Here's all the petals I pulled off of them:

I think that we're going to get about 125-175.

I also put down a deposit for the horse drawn carriage! Very excited about that.

Then...to top it all off. I got an email from Brie starting to confirm all my information in my packet. She said my online coordinator is Imran, and confirmed that I want mickey crystals in my bouquet. We decided to go for 1 hr of photography. If I feel that it's good, we may splurge for more, but we'll see how it goes once we get there.

Brie told me to expect more information in a few days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will agree wholeheartedly that Drew is just too cool for school in the tux - that last picture is absolutely adorable! (as are they all!)

IMHO, I don't think he'll look out of place at all with the white. I think with the Mickey vest it looks just right. If you tea stain it to make it ivory, it might not look right with the vest. That's just my two cents though!

I had to do head shots for the pageant coming up in a couple of weeks. I thought they were adorable! My ds wanted to dress up too! He used to not like that sort of thing, so I'm glad that he is excited since we have our VR so soon.

I also finished my aisle runner this weekend! It turned out way better than I expected.

I discovered that there is a setting on my printer that will let me "poster print" by splitting an image up over several pieces of paper. I don't know if all printers have it or if it's just ours. It's an Epson that we use to print pictures. This is great b/c we don't have Kinko's or any print places within about 60 miles radius of where I live.

Anyway, I took Heidi and Tom's invitation and used the image off the top of that and also used a coloring page to create the aisle runner.

Here it is all taped together from a poster print:

Okay - so I've spent all this money on stuff for me, so I thought I would spend some on my DH. I got him these cufflinks:

I also bought him a Disney Stock that came with an awesome stock certificate. I need to get it and my diploma framed. I'll try to take a pic of it soon. He was very excited to get this.

Then I also got this for $1 on ebay:

It's a mini cookie cutter. It's to make the tiny mickey heads for the cake! Not much of a present, but he'll play with it. He loves to cook and I love to eat!
