I am wondering if I should get the Thick and Fluffy Japanese pancakes or the Tangaroa Toast at Tangaroa Terrace? They both look like they have similar toppings. Has anyone tried both? They both look so good! How does a girl decide?

The toast is not anything like I was expecting. It's Japanese brick toast. Google it so you understand (if you are unfamiliar).

I found it to be mostly tasteless except for the TINY amount of custard and sauce on top. The bread itself was very dry and actually needed syrup or something (more than what they top it with). It's a literal cube of bread somewhat hollowed out and filled with the custard and sauce on top. Once you get past the part of the bread in contact with the toppings, it's tasteless and dry. I expected it to taste like French toast. It does not, at all.

On the other hand, I have a major aversion to "jiggly" foods other than actual jello, and the texture of those fluffy pancakes skeeves me out. These are NOT anything like traditional pancakes and French toast, just so you are aware. I prefer the Short Rib steak and eggs or American breakfast at TT.

I agree with DLGal's description/review of the Tangaroa Toast. The part with toppings etc. was pretty good but the rest of the bread was very dry and just... meh. It does look somewhat like a large piece of french toast but, as she said, is definitely not...

We did not try the pancakes.
