Does anyone know the name of a reliable town car or suv service that will pick up from Tampa international airport and drop off at hard rock hotel Orlando?

Tony does transportation from Tampa to HR
So do other car services

Most of the car services that serve Tampa airport will take you to Universal. I would not select an Orlando-based company, as that will likely be booked on a charter rate; they have to pay the driver to first trek out to Tampa.

But wouldn't the Tampa based company have to pay the driver to trek BACK to Tampa?

Some do, some don’t. Depends on the company. I’m just saying with direct knowledge of the Orlando companies that they will charge a charter rate rather than a point-to-point.

Note that Universal is 85 miles from Tampa airport, a 1.5 hour drive.. Any car service will be very expensive for this type of distance.. Have you thought about changing your flight to arrive at MCO instead? This would be significantly more cost effective, especially for Universal..

Cost effective for the ground transportation, maybe not for air. Anyone considering this should look at the total cost.

Any cost savings in airfare will be offset and perhaps even superseded by ground transportation costs.. I find it hard to believe that this would not be the case.. Not to mention lost time..

I used Tony Hinds last year when we flew into MCO. This year we are flying into Tampa as it was literally hundreds of £ cheaper!
I contacted Tony to ask about transfers to and from the airport and he said he could only drop off at the airport, not pick up. I'm not sure if that is because he is already booked for our arrival day, or if you need a special permit to pick up from the airport.

Anyways, still looking for a reliable company to pick us up from TPA and take us to LBV if anyone has any recommendations!

That would definitely be a permit issue. Only certain companies are authorized to pick up at certain airports.
Mears may be a safe bet.

Last time I fly into Tampa I rented a car. Rental costs were similar to renting at MCO.
Flight savings for a family of 4 could produce a real savings, even with higher ground transportation costs.

Edited to add Uber XL is showing a fare of 135. I don't know if a driver will take accept it

This is my concern about trying to use Uber or Lyft.
The last thing we would want after a 9 hour flight is to not be able to get to our hotel in Orlando!
