Tampa airport to Disney??Car rentals and how long?

What are the car rentals you recommend that are in the airport? How long is the drive? Ready to buy and can get a 3:45 flight and arrive in TPA at around 6 pm. That is a lot earlier than 9:30pm with two kids! What do you thinK? How early do you have to be at the airport? Thanks

Avis & Hertz for sure are at the TPA airport. I can't recall the others. But a quick check of the TPA airport web site should tell you.

The drive to WDW should be 75-90 minutes.

All of the major nationwide rental agencies except for National and Alamo are located in the terminal. I wouldn't dismiss National or Alamo if you can get a much better rate with them. Their lot is right on the way on the road leaving the terminal, its just a short shuttle bus ride.

Assuming no traffic, it should take you around an hour and 15 minutes to get to WDW. If your plane lands at 6:00, by the time you get luggage and your rental car, you should have missed most of rush hour.

As far as what time you should be at the airport, it depends on which airport you're flying out of. I'd recommend be there no less than an hour before your flight, but I'd check the website of your airline and airport to see what their recommendations are.

Assuming no major traffic snarls, I agree with the 75-90 minute estimate.
