Tambu lounge or another?

I was thinking of having a little get together with DF's family to have some welcome drinks the evening they arrive in WDW for our wedding. I was thinking about having them all to the Tambu lounge at the Poly resort. Didn't really want to do a full fledged dinner since we will be hosting other dinners later in the week.

Will we be able to see wishes from the Poly? Is there a veiwing area from the lounge?

I was thinking the Poly because of the atmosphere, and the prices for appetizers and such is reasonable. But most of all I wanted to be able to veiw wishes. Is there any other place that you would suggest that we go for welcome drinks/appetizers and also see wishes? (while still keeping the price reasonable) Keep in mind that not everyone will have park tickets, so we need to keep it at a resort.

I'm not sure if you can see Wish's from Tambu lounge. You can see Wish's from the beach at the Poly. Tambu Lounge if my favorite place to get a drink on property. Susan

although you can't see wishes from the tambu lounge, you can always just pop downstairs and watch them fro the beach.
another option is to grab a drink at the cali grille. although with their new waiting policy, there is no guarentee that they'll let you up. only if there's room.
i know you said you weren't looking for a full meal, but i thought i'd metion about trail's end buffet at fort wilderness. the meal is only like 16 bucks a head (we're hosting our welcome dinner there). and you can get a clear view of wishes from their boat dock.

Wow, Did not know you could see wishes from Fort Wilderness!
Thats so cool. That may be an option for other dinners that we will need to host throughout the week. Thanks!

just a warning, we have always found the Tambu lounge to be very crowded. Another option on the monorail is the Outer Rim lounge at the Contemporary. It is pretty large, and might accomodate a bigger group. Have fun!
