Talking to my DD20 this morning about our past cruises

I was telling some of the things her dad and I did on the ship sans the kids. Like the cruise where her dad got hooked on playing bingo because he was sure he was going to win the big prize. She looked me square in the eyes and with all seriousness asked: "where was I?"

Hello, sweetie? Remember how we would bring you to the kids club in the AM and the next time we saw you was daddy carrying your sleeping body back to the stateroom at 11pm?

Things my parents did on cruises while I was in the kid's clubs:

Visit the casino
Go to various bars
Threw my grandmother's ashes overboard

When I was in a teen club on another line, my mother would basically find a deck chair, find a drink waiter who would pay attention to her, and bring out a big trashy novel.

Everyone was happy.

Wow! I hope that was a good thing for everyone. I know how hard that is. Just not on a cruise ship!
