Talk to me about the Pirates League at MK

This looks like so much fun! Do you make reservations in advance? How long is the whole experience? Do adults pay, or just kids, and do we all attend?

Tell me what you & your kiddos thought of it! My boys are 8 and 4. I'd love to do the pirates fireworks thing instead, because a cruise sounds like it's right up their alley, but it's on the late side for my kids.

It's fantastic!! Make reservations in advance, as far as possible, I believe it's 180 days. Just the kids who are participating pay.

They have a menu that the kids pick their look from, they pick a name and get swords / treasure etc. It is very cool. I believe for both my boys it was about $80

DS5 took quite a bit longer because he had the full face makeup. DS4 went to the chair after and was finished before him. I want to say it was a little over an hour, but I can't be 100% sure. When you call to make the reservation I would ask, but keep in mind it's dependent on what "package" the kids pick too.

We did Pirates League last Feb. and loved it! DS's were 11 and 8 and DH and I got made up, too! I got the mermaid package I honestly can't remember what it cost but I think overall it took us about 2 hours from start to finish. It really is cute, you get a pirate name and some pirate booty, too (no name picking with the mermaid package FYI, but DH did get to pick a pirate name). They do a little parade later in the afternoon for all the kids who did Pirates League that day but I can't remember the time and we didn't participate in that, but I've read on here that others enjoyed doing it.
