Was able to snag family cabana #16 at Lookout for our spring break trip, next Marc (we are not sailing concierge). Hubby and I have been to Lookout once, our kids have not been. Family of 7, 5 kids ages ranging 5-17 so it will cost us $1100. We have never done a cabana before, I am reading that even though time on the island is 10-5:30 (and the booking says 8 hours) you are only allotted about 11-4pm in the cabana. Have also previously read about possible erosion issues on that stretch of beach, so wondering from anyone who has recently sailed how the experience was. Any and all details and experiences are welcome as we decide to pull the trigger or not on this. $1100 could be a deposit on another cruise, but they're so hard to snag and I would love to experience it at some point so leaning towards yes (to my hubby's dismay, haha!) Thanks in advance!

lol what is your goal? The beach is falling apart in front of them sooooo that’s annissue

I did thme on castaway at $495 when my kids were super little. After that no need or interest even when they went to $649.at $1100 I couldn’t.

With kids being spread the teen will want to be in edge or scuttles. Scuttles is far from cabana.

I would wait and experience at castaway.

Watch some YouTube videos on those cabanas. They are sooo far away from the nice sandy beach and where all the activities are. I would not rent one, not even for $500. The location is awful, not sure what they were thinking. An adult area cabana at Lookout - that I would consider. Use the money for another cruise!

I strongly believe they are a poor value. They are a very long way from the better beach, and they don't have the same floaties and such that are available with Castaway cabanas because they're exposed to open ocean.

We really liked our cabana at Castaway, but I can't see how I'd enjoy a Lighthouse cabana.

I would never ever spend the money on a cabana. I do not get the appeal at all. Perfectly happy with my free beach chairs.

Yeah… we don’t understand the use of a cabana. to experience the island, spend time in the water, enjoy a walk, shopping, seeing everything… what good is the cabana?

Disclaimer that I haven’t been to Lookout yet, but the Family cabana location looks terrible. Water looks choppier than the family beach on the other side of the island and as you are aware, beach erosion is an issue.

There’s a reason those cabanas are becoming easier to reserve. $1100 is wild for that location.

Exactly! So many better things to do that don’t cost extra than sit inside an overpriced cabana!
