Talk to me about the Disney Rewards card

I'm not sure that we'll go for it (we have a CC that we're fairly happy with right now), but since we're planning for a trip next year, I want to explore all avenues that might save us a penny.

Thanks!

I love my Disney rewards VISA card. We use it for purchases, pay it off before we get charged a finance charge, and get extra money to spend at Disney. We also put our Disney vacation on it and have 6 months to pay with no interest. If you use it smart (not paying any interest), it does benefit you. You only get $1 for every $100 spent, but it adds up pretty quickly. Hope this helps.

I haven't researched other avenues much, but considering this one doesn't carry an annual fee, we are pretty happy with it. We don't carry a balance, so interest isn't in play here. I make credit card payments weekly.

We rec'd the $200 gift card offer so that was nice. We have used the discount at the Disney store (we have one locally but I also frequently shop online--you have to make sure you put in the code to get the discount). We are going to Disney in a few months and we have $300+ in reward dollars waiting, so that will cover some out of pocket expenses!

We had an airline card that was great, but they totally change their routes out of our city, so airfare is now double what it was for us. Not as much of an incentive as it once was!

I have a credit card I'm happy with, actually two. We are heading to Disney in November and received the $200 rewards dollars offer. I signed up, received the card in a few days, made a $3 purchase and paid it off once it showed up online. Now I'm just waiting for the reward dollars to hit the account.

Even though I got the card in early August, my statement closing date is Sept 22. I'm afraid the reward dollars will take 6 - 8 weeks to hit the account as the fine print claims. If that happens we might just miss being able to use the reward dollars.

That problem aside, if Disney is giving you $200 to make one purchase, you might as well take them up on it and cancel the card after you get those reward dollars. $200 will certainly go a long way when it is free.

Opened a Disney visa in my name, recieved $200 gift card. About 4 weeks later, received another offer in the mail and opened one in DH's name, and received another $200 Gift card. I will be using them both for a trip with my sister this October. I am thrilled.:cheer2:

I got the VISA card about a year and a half ago and started paying any bills I could (that didn't have a fee for paying with a credit card) and man those points added up quickly. I think when we went to Disney last November I had around $75.

Now that I'm married my husband and I pay most of our bills with the credit card. Every month we pay off the credit card so we have never paid any interest on the card. We have already received a $50 gift card from our rewards points and since then we have earned $15 - we are planning to return to Disney in May 2013 and I look forward to seeing how much Disney Reward Points we have by then.

Alot of people state they get the $200 gift card. My son just opened one and it was only for $100 gift card. Don't sign up unless you at least find the $100 gift card. You use the card once and you get the $100 rewards to be used anywhere at disney (food, merchandise and such). Then you can also show your disney visa card at innoventions at epcot between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and get a free 5x7 picture with some characters (you never know what character there are at this place). Only people with the disney visa can go to this meet and greet. You also get a 10% discount at the big disney store at the marketplace with purchases over $50. Also you get a discount if you do any of the tours. You are also allowed to buy a special disney visa pin at the pin merchant at marketplace (if you collect pins)

I use the disney visa only for these reasons. I use another chase card in every day life that has better rewards.

I just received the offer with the $200/gc offer. Can it be used to pay the bill at the hotel desk upon check out? thanks

Don't just settle for the $100 Gift Card offer. Get the $100 Statement Credit offer so you just get the cash and don't have to worry about the gift card for that $100.

And then after you get your credit card in the mail, email them asking about other new cardholders getting a $200 enrollment bonus and you would like the same, and they will give you 100 Disney Reward Dollars to bring you up to $200.

Yes. Although you might as well just use it in the World until it runs out instead of charging stuff to your KTTW card.

We just signed up this summer and went to Disney 2 weeks ago. My sister and I signed up for the card and got the $200 gift card. We only charged gas, groceries and any large purchases....we ended up having to buy a new fridge.:confused3 Anyway, we paid it off every week. You can sign up for online to check your account. Avoiding any interest is the key.:thumbsup2 After only doing it for about 6 months, we accrued $80. I know some ppl might think that is beans, but we thought it was pretty good considering we were devoted to a $0 balance.
When we went to Disney we used the $200 card for the gratuity at dinner and the $80 for fun stuff. The card lasted us the whole trip.

I was debating getting one about two weeks. We had a great offer for one and were about to book our trip. But I had been having my eye on the Capital One venture card and at the last minute decided not to get the Disney Rewards card. I had the application filled out and everything, but I decided to go with the CC that offered me a little more flexibility with what I can do with my rewards.
