Can anyone talk me out of going Nov. 1-9th?

What do I need to know? Our "dream" would be to attend the last MNSSHP on November 1 and the first MVMCP on November 8th...but please tell me what I need to consider in terms of:

crowds
events
weather
resort availability (we like to stay at "home" at OKW)

etc.

My DH only has a few choices of weeks that he can take his vacation this year, and this week looks like our best choice. We are usually May vacationers, but DH's new job won't let us travel until Oct-Nov. We know very little about visiting at this time of year.

I appreciate the help and input!

Crowds - that's Jersey week I believe, so the crowds will be perhaps more than you'd expect. When we went at the end of Jersey week and into the next week last year, it was definitely more crowded than it had been in 2008 when we went the week before Thanksgiving.

Events - it's the tail-end of Food & Wine, which means there are some nice events, but it also means Epcot can be more crowded. I think these dates are too early for MVMCP. I believe it won't start until after Veteran's Day.

Weather - unpredictable, but likely warm. 3rd week November 2008, it was very cold for us. 2nd week November 2009, it was really only warm enough to swim 1-2 days. Other days were mild, not cold, but too cool/overcast for swimming.

Availability - tight. It's the end of Food & Wine, so resorts are hard to get into, plus it's a lower point value season, making it popular for DVCers even without F&W.

It isn't my absolute favorite fall time to travel - October is a bit more of a sure bet for warmer weather and early December is nicer in terms of decor and events. But November is still pretty nice on its own, don't get me wrong.

;) It is a great time to go to WDW. We were there 10/28-11/06 last year. My DH has always wanted to do both parties as well....just haven't managed it. This past year the crowds were manageable. Yes our Jersey folks were there but again I only noticed heavy crowds at Epcot on the weekend with F&W. The weather is very mild, shorts and t-shirts usually. Just plan ahead and since you have obviously been before you know which rides to FP and so forth. Just keep in mind it is Jersey week and F&W, but very enjoyable. If that is when you can go you will be fine.

We actually really enjoyed MNSSHP on 10/31....it was so much more comfortable than the party on 10/29 when it was just miserable hot. The Christmas decorations will go up every day before your eyes. I have been told the "real elves" do it.

We did the first week of November in 2005 and 2007..Both times the weather was beautiful...upper 70's to 80's. The crowds were large at the end of our trip both times because of Jersey week. NJ schools are off 3 days that first week in November this year..so lots of people tend to go then.

I don't believe I could talk you out of it. Sounds like a good plan to me!!!

We started our trip the second weekend of Nov last year so we saw some of the lingering Jersey week crowds but I didn't consider it unmanageable. And to have MNSSHP, F&W and MVMCP all in one trip - wow! :thumbsup2

Thank you all sooooo much.

I bet from the sounds of it it will come down to availability. We'll see how it all works out.

Our other choices are mid-August or mid-November. I just can't hack the heat of mid August.
