I'd like to invite y'all to our annual spring festival. One of the finest half marathons for runners in the country. You won't see any famous runners, except maybe Elvis, last year the race was won by a local middle school teacher. Capacity is increased this year from 12k to 15k for both the half and the full. It's a very walker friendly race, finish line is open for 6 hrs, and no sweeper bus.

Looking forward to it!!!

We are looking forward to it!! It will be our 25th state!! We will be staying at the Hampton Inn downtown Louisville - WISH party central!

I just wanted to remind people that the race entry fees go up from $50 for the mini and $65 for the full to $65 and $85 on 1 February.

I'm local and planning to do the triple crown. Guess I should go look at dates and register. I'll consider the mini once I get back from the princess and see how that goes.

I'll be there for the mini, will be my third year in a row :cool1:

My mom and I are going to try and come do the 1/2! We used to live in Louisville; so it will be fun to come back and see the old neighborhood :)

I'm doing my own personal Goofy challenge that weekend...

I'm doing the Derby half on Saturday, then driving up to Cincinnati and doing the Flying Pig half on Sunday. :cool1:

The Anthem 5k is the Saturday before princess, I'm impressed that you are going to run in the AM then get on a plane and fly, then race again the next morning.

The Ohio River Goofy Challenge, what a concept. Unfortunately it can only be run on certain years. I went to your website, any thoughts on what your June Half is going to be?

I am excited to see all these wishers coming to Louisville. Looking forward to meeting you.

Sorta bummed. This is just the kind of thing I would like to do this year--travel to a few races (other than Disney!) and run with WISHers. But there's this little race on April 18 that I'm already signed up to do and I'm not sure if I'll feel like doing a half that soon. And that "Ohio Valley Goofy" would have worked great!

Does the half sell out? I may keep my eye on it.

Mike is taking down our tree, but he told me to say that there were folks at the Derby Festival 1/2 in their Boston shirts last year.:goodvibes It did sell out last year, but they added 3000 entries this year, so who knows.

I am personally on the fence. Last year while Mike ran, I watched the race on tv at the Y on the elliptical.:thumbsup2 I can pretty much guarantee that if I sign up it will snow that day.:rotfl: We are running the princess, but I haven't committed to anything else yet.

The minor league baseball team is in town that weekend. Last year they had $2.00 craft beers on Saturday nights, so I am hoping they do that this year. Run in the morning, baseball and beer at night. What more can you ask for?:goodvibes

For June I signed up for the Rock N Roll San Diego, June 5, which also happens to be my birthday!

San Diego sounds like fun. I lived there for a few years many years ago.
I read the blog about is a 6+ hr Marathon count as running. Given that Runners World did a story about the BL Marathon this month and didn't use any astericks, I guess the answer is yes.

I read the same Runners World article about The Biggest Loser Marathon and loved it. I shared the article with several others.

Guess I should check the dates - No triple crown for me this year. Last year I was only able to do 2 of 3 legs as well. Sat. am I will be in FLA!

Hoping everyone who is doing this event is having good training. With all the snow here these days training for anything is difficult for me.

The Derby Festival just announced that they are extending the early registration deadline to February 14th. The reason they gave was so that everyone had a chance to see the course map, so it should be out soon.

Hope everyone is getting their training in!

New course map out today. Apparently they eliminated the big hill in the park for the mini. Good news for me!

Wow, I'm kind of disappointed. We have been running hills in Cherokee Park and I really felt ready for the hills. Did you notice the full is not going over the river anymore and they aren't running through Cherokee park anymore? Mike ran last year, but this would have been my first time and I was kind of excited about running Iroquois Park. Oh well.
