Tale as Old as Time...a Feb 2017 Princess 5k and B-Day Trip! NEW 4/7 THE END of our trip!!

Checking in from Disney wow you've been busy. Love all the updates. So excited to read about the Star Wars tour. We're hoping to do this for our November trip.

OMG hope you are having a great time! Is it crowded?

Wow, my husband would LOVE this tour!!

Yes I'm sure he would!

I love how in the second video you see a CM take her light saber and gently 'push' an onlooker BACK from where they came from :rotfl2:

Hahaha, my thoughts exactly! He was no jedi, so back to the masses he goes!

Love your popcorn selfie :thumbsup2 I don't really understand it per say as I'm not quite as taken with the Disney popcorn as you are popcorn:: but hey, gotta love a woman who loves her snacks! The chicken and waffles is exactly what I would've ordered, too!

Looking forward to part of your tour!

I think I love all popcorn in general but it has to be freshly popped. Then I'm a happy camper! I am not keen on microwave popcorn and I barely eat it.
The Chicken n Waffles was really good!

Oh wow, the tour looked so fun! My son would have loved that. Alas poor kid only got the dessert party and we had to run to Jedi training with the rest of them. Lol. Next time!!!

It was a lot of fun. A lot of people don't really know about this tour. We got a a lot of stares and onlookers asking what we were doing. :)

Day 3 Part 3: Star Wars Guided Tour (Part 2) - Galactic Dessert Party

After our Star Wars-themed quick service meal at Backlot Express, we made our way over to Star Wars Launch Bay. We were explained a bit about how our evening would progress. We'd first be viewing the movie about the people behind Star Wars, and then we'd get a chance to explore Launch Bay on our own (or with the guides if we wanted some extra info) for a bit before the dessert party opened, which is also conveniently held inside Launch Bay. During this time we'd be able to get character pictures with Chewie and Kylo Ren without waiting in line. We just had to flash our tour lanyards and we would bypass the line. Instant FP for something you can't FP regularly - cool!

Heading into Launch Bay:

There were a couple of minutes before the next movie started so we perused the artwork in the area next to the movie. We don't usually come this way so we got to appreciate some amazing Star Wars art.

I especially love this one of Vader, just so cool:

This was one of the first iterations of the title of Episode 6. George Lucas said that Jedi do not get "revenge" so the title was changed to "Return of the Jedi." Also the light saber colors are wrong. Luke is depicted with a red light saber instead of Vader and vice versa on Vader's light saber.

When the next movie started, we all went inside. This movie wasn't crowded so we just sat anywhere. I actually enjoy this little movie as I like hearing stories of behind the scenes of Star Wars - but a movie purely for a fan's enjoyment.

Our time in Launch Bay is always fun. Even though we've seen it quite thoroughly before, it's like visiting a favorite museum or exhibit and just being here surrounded by Star Wars is a pretty cool thing and you relish that feeling.

We followed the guides around for a bit and then it was the official end of the "guided" portion of the tour and we had to give back our headsets.

Here was the set up for the dessert party!

There were ropes so that you couldn't just go down there before it was time, but the best news was that us in the tour would have first access to the dessert party for a good 10-15 minutes before the rest of the dessert party ticket holders got to come in. Imagine that, we got VIP over the VIP dessert party ticket holders! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

When it was time for us to enter the dessert party, we were let in by our tour guides and were the first to partake in all the yummy goodies! Also we were the first ones to grab a table. Sadly there is no seating, except for limited benches around the area but I loved being inside Launch Bay for the dessert parties, just so much more atmosphere and you can actually see what you are eating!

Here's the table with the biggest spread:

I admit I'm not that much of a sweets eater nowadays. A lot to do with not wanting to eat too much sugar for health reasons and also I just don't crave them as much as I used to, but I did nibble on a bunch of different things. My favorites were the warm bread pudding and the nutella flash frozen ice cream. Oh and I did have a chocolate covered frozen banana because I used to love those!

I like how there are savory things to eat and not just sweets so I got to satisfy any more hunger I had:

On the left with have green Swamp Milk, it is gross :crazy2: do not get it. The middle I think is the Light Speed margarita, and the right is the Galactic Punch which is probably the best out of the bunch.

The service was fantastic, food was refilled consistently, and we were constantly offered more drinks, LOL. We were talking to one of the tour guides and he was telling us there is a hidden Mickey in Launch Bay. I want to say his name is Jason, he was really awesome, and he stopped by and took us to find the hidden Mickey!

Here it is! It's a Jedi Mickey sticker hidden in a space ship. I will not reveal where it is in case you want to find it yourself (PM me if you really want to know), but it's really really hard to find it if you weren't looking for it, soooo well hidden, it is. :yoda:

Day 3 Part 3: Star Wars Guided Tour (Part 2) - Galactic Dessert Party

After our Star Wars-themed quick service meal at Backlot Express, we made our way over to Star Wars Launch Bay. We were explained a bit about how our evening would progress. We'd first be viewing the movie about the people behind Star Wars, and then we'd get a chance to explore Launch Bay on our own for a bit before the dessert party opened, which is also conveniently held inside Launch Bay.

And can't forget about the drinks! There were actually servers coming around holding trays of drinks which was nice so I only went to the bar once.

:yoda:

We told him we marched with the First Order today and he said: "Excellent"

Those in the VIP tour who want to go early followed the guides out and we walked over to the reserved viewing area, an entire box all for us! If you didn't want to go early you can wait until the rest of the people are escorted over. Some maybe wanted to enjoy more of the libations and desserts, although after 15 minutes of eating desserts you're kinda like, I'm done.

Of course, being the first ones to the viewing area we got to be front and center.

Our view:

I thought the entire show was wonderful. The projections were cool and the sound effects and music were great. I would have liked even more fireworks though. But overall I was very excited to see the show in person (I had seen the live streaming on the park blog website) and I wasn't disappointed. Definitely the spot you want to be is with a center view of the Chinese Theater but not all the way in front because the projections and fireworks are very wide, so it's best to be a little further back to see it all.

After the show we decided to head to Epcot thinking we could watch Illuminations. When we got there though, since the ride on the ferry from DHS to Epcot was so slow, Illuminations was about to start and it was really crowded. I texted @cinderkelly to see what they were doing and they said they were going to see if they could catch Soarin'! Since we hadn't done this and didn't have an FP for Soarin' on this trip, DH and I looked at each other and said: "Let's go!" So we ran, literally booked it to The Land because it was 9pm and the park was officially closed!

We met Kelly and Devin right outside the Land and we tried to take our chances so we walked in and went downstairs. DH went up to the CM at Soarin' and asked if it was too late, he said "Sure! Go right ahead sir...but these ladies cannot go" motioning to us and gave us a stern look like we were too late. Then he started cracking up and said he was joking and to go right on in. HAHAHAHAHAHA Funny but not funny...

Thankfully we were the last people to ride Soarin' that night!! We asked to sit in the middle section and that's what we got, although we got the 3rd row, no problem though! Our row was practically empty too!

We were on the last ride of the day! We shut down Soarin' Woo hoo! It was fun to do that with Kelly and Devin!

We parted ways with Kelly (that would be the last time we saw each other during the trip :sad1:) and headed back to the Contemporary.

When we got back I said I was hungry so DH and I split a pasta from Contempo Cafe. I just wanted something in my tummy to settle it a bit as all the sweets was leaving me a bit unbalanced and pasta was the only thing I wanted. It was your typical gemelli pasta with some meatballs, marinara sauce and a breadstick. It was pretty standard fare but it was fine. Did not eat the breadstick though as it was just mostly dough.

It has been a looooong day and we needed some much needed rest. It was an incredibly fun day though and we really enjoyed the tour.It was well worth it IMO.

Overall Tour Impression:

We found the tour very enjoyable. I would recommend this tour for Star Wars fans who have been to DHS before and want to experience it a different way. Yes you can do all the rides and shows yourself and you don't' always need an FP for them, but the tour gives you a chance to feel like you're a VIP for a little while:). Marching with the First Order was the highlight as I don't think there is any other way to do this.

Definitely eat something substantial in the morning or have an early lunch as you do not eat dinner until closer to 5pm, but we did get popcorn and they do give you bottled water.

Also make your FP+ for the morning because you won't have time to do anything else after the tour starts!

The price of the tour is $121.12 per person without tax. It is the same price for adults and kids it seems. Here is the link on the Disney website:
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/hollywood-studios/star-wars-guided-tour/

The price is great because the dessert party is already 70 bucks, plus you get dinner and popcorn which is already another 20 bucks, not including all the bottles of water we got. So you're only paying like 30+ bucks for some VIP treatment. I'm not sure how long they will offer the tour for but if you're a SW fan and are going to be in Disney soon, I think it's a great deal. You also get the Chewbacca mug which everyone with dessert party tickets get. Pic in the next post.

UPDATE AUGUST 2017: The tour going forward does NOT offer the dessert party but you can still get into the VIP viewing area for the fireworks. The price has also decreased by about 20 bucks to I think 99 dollars. Frankly I really enjoy the dessert party and it's a much better deal with it, but I do think the tour is actually still worth it if you're a Star Wars fan.

Hope you guys enjoyed the review of the tour!

Coming up...we hop from AK to Epcot and back again just to watch Rivers of Light!

That's an awesome PP magic shot in front of Norway with the snow-magic effect! I've never seen that one showcased before. WOW... your Star Wars Tour was absolutely AMAMZING! Great photos, as always :)

I am so late to this party but just found the trip report. I've read the whole thing through and am thoroughly enjoying it.

First, Happy Birthday! :cake: I remember reading your trip report last year for your birthday on the Cruise then visiting Disney. Nice way to celebrate!

Congratulations on completing the 5K. It does seem like such a fun time. I was in Disney two weeks ago and they had the Princess marathon going on. So many people wearing their medals and partying it up in EPCOT.

Loved reading your review. It's better than bringing a book to the pool. I showed DD and she's even more excited.
We've been here since the 10th and crowds have been good. Last year her Spring Break fell on the week leading up to Easter. Crowds were much heavier last March.

How long was the tour. My trip is this June, how much outside time was there? Wondering as sometimes the hot afternoon sun kinda makes me feel ill. Thanks

For all that you got I'd say that is a good price!!
That dessert party looked yummy as always - Disney knows how to do the dessert parties well! :thumbsup2

Awesome view of the fireworks!

So glad you all enjoyed The Wave and even more so you got to enjoy it with Billie and Kelly! We did the wave once last year for breakfast and were very impressed by the offerings. Small, but seemed a higher quality than some of the other buffets

Thanks for the tip on the Minnie/Mickey meet and greet posters. The wait has always been too long, so we've never been in so good to know there is something to keep "us" (aka Casey) occupied

Looks like an awesome time doing the tour. I had no idea it included the dessert party, dinner, and Jedi training for the kiddos! I hadn't considered doing it, but it really isn't that much when you consider all that is included. My hubby would love to do the march. How did the kids do during the day? I'm wondering how mine would do if someone else was in charge of where we'd go and when :-)

The dessert party looks so good! I'm hoping to do it in May still.

I love the Star Wars dessert parties! Well I've only really done dessert parties in DHS so don't know how it is for Wishes or Illuminations, but I love the theme of the desserts.

That's an awesome PP magic shot in front of Norway with the snow-magic effect! I've never seen that one showcased before. WOW... your Star Wars Tour was absolutely AMAMZING! Great photos, as always :)

Thanks! Yeah it's right in front of the Frozen Ever After Ride where the waterfall is, so just catch a PP Photographer there.
We had a great time on the tour! It was long but fun! Thank you!

I am so late to this party but just found the trip report. I've read the whole thing through and am thoroughly enjoying it.

Hi Grumpy's Wife! Great to see you here again! Thank you!!

Can't wait to read more.

Thank you! I've been lucky to celebrate 2 bdays at WDW now! But I guess that was to make up of for the 39 years that I did not. Hahaha.

The Princess Weekend has a great vibe. So much camaraderie! But the crowds are high!

Thank you for reading!

That's great! It sounds like you're having a great time!

How long was the tour. My trip is this June, how much outside time was there? Wondering as sometimes the hot afternoon sun kinda makes me feel ill. Thanks

The tour started at 1pm and ended at pretty much at 8pm which is when the fireworks started, so 7 hours. You will be outside a lot since you will be watching JEdi Training, March of the First Order and a Galaxy Far Far Away. The rest of the time will be indoors in attractions, rides, Backlot Express and the dessert party is inside Launch Bay; then the fireworks are outside. Also you will be walking outdoors back and forth between stuff. So I would say a good 60% is outdoors. They did say they tweaked some of the timing from the first tour they did so they are constantly improving. We told them that the times we watched the Jedi Training and Galaxy Far Far away shows was really sunny and sometimes the glare would mar the view. But that is not really a complaint - we were grateful for a nice sunny day instead of rain, but I would have preferred if it would have been overcast, hahaha. Yes June will be hot and the tour goes on rain or shine. I am not sure what happens in inclement weather and shows get canceled - do you get your money back? I doubt it. I hope you get a nice weather day if you decide on the tour!

For all that you got I'd say that is a good price!!

Awesome view of the fireworks!

Thank you! Disney really did a good job with this tour, and of course the dessert parties are awesome, if you're wiling to pay the price! I still think WOC is the best one because of the seats and table service. :)

So glad you all enjoyed The Wave and even more so you got to enjoy it with Billie and Kelly! We did the wave once last year for breakfast and were very impressed by the offerings. Small, but seemed a higher quality than some of the other buffets

It was a great breakfast! I was very impressed too. The quality was great and the company was even better :)

Thanks for the tip on the Minnie/Mickey meet and greet posters. The wait has always been too long, so we've never been in so good to know there is something to keep "us" (aka Casey) occupied

This is a really cute meet n greet and one which I think is worth the wait, but try going in the morning when there are less crowds.

Looks like an awesome time doing the tour. I had no idea it included the dessert party, dinner, and Jedi training for the kiddos! I like how you seem like you're "whispering" with the small font, lol.
It was an awesome tour for the price. Just be prepared for some walking and being outside quite a bit. The kids we saw did fantastic, even the young ones in the strollers. I did not witness any meltdowns. The older kids had a blast with the jedi training and marching with the first order. I think the guides did a great job in keeping the kids interested with questions and making them feel involved. The kids liked talking about who their favorite characters were. I think all the kids were fans already though (unless they were dragged by their SW-crazed parents? LOL) but I did think they enjoyed following the guides who were holding up lightsabers, I guess it kinda made them feel important. :)

I know I've only done two dessert parties, but I have to agree, WOC is the best one and now I'm spoiled. Gotta do that one every time we go to DLR :thumbsup2

Ok I have to say I am LOVING your trip report!...the 5 k looked so fun and I dont even run :)
Star Wars dessert party....um yes please! cant wait to hear more!

I was just going to read and not comment, just so I could catch up but I can't keep my mouth shut!

This was probably one of the best decisions I've made

I had packed a lot of snacks knowing we'd be on the go a lot so we ate granola bars, protein bars, fruit, and cheese for breakfast.
Smart lady on both counts!

Oh yeah, and ME was PACKED. I've never seen it so packed.
My goodness!

DH does not seem so thrilled, but he was still sick and not feeling it for the first few days.
Hope he felt better quickly!

I was prepared to sit separately from DH but then we noticed the reserved seats in the front and we just asked the driver if it was ok, and he said, sure! So he removed the reserved sign and we got the coveted seats in the front! Doesn't hurt to ask, huh?
Yay!

Pretty soon we were crossing under this beautiful sign:
A sight for sore eyes!

Good luck with buses today I guess!
More yay!

pick up my pre-ordered Dooney and Bourke.
Envious! I need another!

Not sure I would even attempt to wait on that line even if I did!
Um...no way!

We were in the Garden Wing which I knew was in a separate building but we were literally in the room that I swear is the furthest away from everything.
I guess I've heard people talk about this but I never really knew there was another building? Obviously, I've never stayed there.

The bathroom was very nice with a separate large toilet area. However the sinks were just a massive waste of space. They were large flat sinks and took up most of the counter space. We ended up just mostly using one sink and putting all our stuff in the other. Haha. They looked cool though and the bathroom was very well lit.
I was gonna say that the sinks look cool, but I understand how the functionality wasn't that great.

Update from last post: I forgot to mention that you get a souvenir to take home with the Star Wars dessert party - Chewie mugs! Everyone in the dessert party got one not only the tour people, which makes the price of this dessert party a little more bearable. Since we got two from last year's dessert party we gave these away to my brother in laws. LOL.

It's also good for stowing away some extra desserts...but they started giving them out at the viewing location and not at the dessert party...maybe because people had this same idea? *guilty* :rotfl:

BTW, did anyone see Beauty and the Beast yet? We saw it last night...amazing, beautiful visuals...we loved it!

Day 4 Part 1: A Lazy Morning and Lunch at Tiffins - ROL Dining Package

A few weeks before our trip it was announced that Rivers of Light would be premiering - but only on certain nights of our trip. The only day we could possibly make it was today (Sunday) after our early dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. There was a 7:15pm show that we thought we could try to make...try being the key word because we knew that dinner and travel to AK would take some time and we would have to show up early to get seats. So more than likely it was NOT going to happen...until they released ROL Dining packages!! I jumped on this and got us a lunch ressie at Tiffins, a restaurant I've always wanted to try and now this was the perfect opportunity. We were originally scheduled to be at Epcot all day but I pushed all our FPs to later in the afternoon and so we'd start off our day at AK, hop to Epcot, dinner at Yachtsman and then back to AK!

I was also tempted to try out that VIP bus service that takes you from park to park without having to go through bag check again, but they had raised the prices of it right before we arrived to 19.99 per person and we would technically be only using it once to hop from AK to Epcot, so I ended up not purchasing it. I regret this decision later on...you'll see.

So on this morning since we didn't have any breakfast or FP to make, we decided to just sleep in and chill at the pool a bit before heading to AK for our 11:40am lunch. It was a good decision as we started our day feeling refreshed.

It was nice and empty at the pool, guess most people were at the parks! (Also the half marathon was this morning)

Here's a picture of our building in the Garden Wing, our room was just through the glass doors at the bottom about 2 rooms in.

After our relaxing morning we headed out and caught a bus to AK. It was a beautiful day, there was not a cloud in the sky and it 70 degrees and no humidity. This was the best weather of the trip and there wasn't a moment where I felt it was too hot, and I find being AK I always feel a little too warm.

When we entered the park, we realized we did not know where Tiffins is so a CM had to point us in the right direction. It's right near where Camp Minnie Mickey used to be, which is now gonna be Pandora! So basically you enter the park and head to the left when you see the Tree of Life.

The gated area you see behind the Tiffin's sign will be the entry way into Pandora.

Excited to eat here!

We went inside and checked in. I fell in love with the space, it felt a little bit like Sanaa but more elegant.

Soon we were called and were taken to one of the rooms on the left, past the Nomad Lounge. I don't have a picture of the lounge since the light streaming through the windows was not in my favor to take a picture but the lounge looks fantastic. I would really like to stop here for a drink one day.

Here's the room we sat in.

There wasn't that many people at that time but we got one of the earlier lunch seatings and it got a little more crowded when we left.

I wasn't paying attention when we booked the Rivers of Light package - for some reason I thought it would be like Candlelight Processional where it's just like an ala carte menu and you just pay for each thing you order. The Rivers of Light package is actually 67 dollars per adult and includes any appetizer, entree and dessert plus non-alcoholic beverage. That was actually an even better deal because we wanted to try some of the pricier things on the menu and the package price was much less than what we would have paid for each item individually (although our TIW card would have saved us 20% but still the package price is cheaper overall).

Our server was super friendly and informative and explained the package pricing and answered any questions about items on the menu. We placed our order and was served our drinks and some bread.

To drink I ordered the unsweetened ice tea which had a vanilla passion fruit flavor. They were kind enough to bring me some simple syrup on the side. That is a mark of a great restaurant when simple syrup is on the side for their iced teas and coffees. The iced tea was lovely and refreshing.

I think DH got a diet coke.

Here's our bread service: We did not get the appetizer bread service so this is just the one that comes with every meal.

This was a foccacia bread with an olive oil and pomegranate molasses dipping sauce. That sauce was crazy good. It's like balsamic vinegar and oil but has a more interesting flavor. I wish they put more molasses in it as I liked it so much.

To start I got the Lobster-Popcorn Thai Curry Soup with Lime-Basil Emulsion, Popped Sorghum.

OMG this was phenomenal. The flavors were so on point and had all this umami-ness going on. There wasn't much in terms of lobster meat because it's in the flavor of the soup and it's not a chunky soup. The popcorn added some nice crunch and toasty flavor but I would not miss it if it weren't there. I would totally get this again.

DH got the Marinated Grilled Octopus: Artichoke Bargoule, Saffron Aïoli, and Lemon-Caper Olive Oil

Seriously the most tender octopus I've ever eaten! It was really delicious and all the flavors went well together. Totally getting this next time too. Actually maybe we'll have to order more than 2 appetizers because everything sounded so good!

As an entree, I got the Whole-fried Sustainable Fish: Fermented Black Bean Sauce, Som Tam, Peanuts. (OK I'm not 100% sure mine had the black bean sauce because I got this description from the Disney website so they may have changed the accompaniments. I definitely had the Som Tam (green papaya salad) and it was served with black "forbidden" rice).

The fish of the day was a yellow-tailed red snapper. It was seriously amazing. I absolutely loved the presentation. I'm used to eating fish the Asian way which is usually served whole, with head and tail so I was really happy to see this at Disney World. The fish was so tender, with crisp lightly battered skin and fleshy meat - not fishy at all. It was just perfectly cooked and seasoned. I loved everything that it came with - the sweet and salty green papaya salad was a great contrast to the fried fish, and the black rice was wonderful. I am a huge fan of black rice so it was the perfect little side, and whatever sauce was on it was so good I was literally sopping up all of it. It will get a little messy as you eat this dish but they do give you a nice little fish knife which was handy in separating the meat from bone. Also the fish was huge. I could not eat the whole thing and DH had to help with a lot of it. Yum.

Here's another angle of the presentation of the dish:

OMG this dish had me at Uni Butter Sauce. That stuff is like crack...and the only issue was that there wasn't enough of it on the plate! The shrimp were big and had a nice grilled flavor. This dish initially reminded me of a dish we had last year at Skipper Canteen, also a head-on shrimp dish, which we thought was ok, but this one blew that one out of the water and really there is no comparison.

Our meal had been wonderful and really filling so far...but we still had dessert to contend with! We also ordered some coffees, DH got a decaf and I got a regular and it came in separate French presses. These giraffe French presses are so cute! The coffee was very good. And they were both included with our dining package!

Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh - no words can say what I think about this dessert but it is seriously one of the best desserts I've ever had! I have a soft spot for any sort of rice or tapioca puddings and this one was insanely good. The pudding was infused with delicious passion fruit and topped with a citrus-scented whipped cream and chocolate crumble. I think they must put crack in everything because even though I was really full I ate the entire dessert...and I'm not even a dessert person anymore! I think also this wasn't super sweet so you don't get that cloying sugary mouth feel. I would go to Tiffins just to eat this again!

DH got the Lime Cheesecake - Almond-Sesame Tuile, Green Tea Sponge

This was very good as well, but I was really just so obsessed with my own dessert that DH's dessert was like an afterthought, lol.

French press coffee and a delicious dessert...I can't think of a better way to end an amazing meal. Yum

Tiffins is now our favorite restaurant at WDW. In fact while at lunch I pulled up the MDE app and made reservations again for May. I forget what ADR I canceled to go to this restaurant but in any case it was worth it.

When we paid for our check, our server gave us our receipt which acted as our "ticket" for that evening's ROL performance. I asked her if we could get the later show at 8:30pm (which they had just added that week), but she said the package is only valid for the early show. But then she told us that the early show was at 7:45pm and that if we showed up at 7:15pm it should be fine. Oh cool, we thought. That would give us plenty of time to get to AK after dinner! Or so we thought.
You will find out later if we did make it or not. :rolleyes1

As a parting gift they gave out these little artist replica cards. Nice touch Tiffins!

Overall, we loved Tiffins, we loved the ambiance, the food, the service, everything was top notch and the ROL dining package is well worth it depending on what you order. You cannot use any discounts with the dining packages like TIW or Annual Pass, but it comes out to be very close in price, also again depends on what you order. I look forward to our meal here in May!

After lunch we headed back out of the park because we needed to get to Epcot. We were really full and lunch took a little longer than we anticipated and we also ate a little more than we expected because of the included three courses. We were supposed to have dinner in just 3.5 hours! I didn't think I could think about eating anymore at this point!

We stopped to grab some PP pictures:

Such a beautiful day!

When we got to the Epcot bus line, this is where our worst luck with buses occurred. We waited 45 minutes for a bus to Epcot!! In total it took us an hour to get from Tiffins to Epcot, which we did not expect. Then I remembered it was still race weekend and the half just happened that morning so traffic must have been crazy bad. There was a pretty steady line forming and a lot of people were getting pissed off. I dunno what was going on, we were tempted to take a cab but every time we thought of getting one we said oh the bus is gonna be here any minute and we didn't' want to lose our place in line, and each time we saw a bus we hoped it would be Epcot and it wasn't. #stubborn
This is when I wished we had gotten the express bus pass because I would gladly give 20 bucks to get that hour of my life back. :headache:

Ugh, finally an hour later we were at Epcot.

It gets better I promise...another Dismeet, Yachtsman Steakhouse dinner, and maybe, just maybe, Rivers of Light...coming up!

I know I've only done two dessert parties, but I have to agree, WOC is the best one and now I'm spoiled. Gotta do that one every time we go to DLR :thumbsup2

It's amazing. I'm gonna have to do it on our next trip to DLR!

We reserved the Star Wars dessert party this morning! :thumbsup2

Yay!!! :cheer2:

Ok I have to say I am LOVING your trip report!...the 5 k looked so fun and I dont even run :)
Star Wars dessert party....um yes please! cant wait to hear more!

Thank you so much! I am not a runner myself but I wanted to do a Run Disney event. You can totally walk and still have fun!
I love all things Star Wars so it was a no brainer to do it! I won't do it all the time but every few trips it's worth it to me especially if I don't want to wait to get a prime spot. :)

I was just going to read and not comment, just so I could catch up but I can't keep my mouth shut!

LOL! That's ok I love hearing from you!!

Smart lady on both counts!

We're doing the same thing for our May trip because the morning flight for May 3rd was so expensive that it was cheaper to fly in the night before and spend the night at the Hyatt again. It works for us because we'll get to the parks even earlier! :thumbsup2

My goodness!

Yup insanely long ME line. I hope it's not like that for our other trips!

Hope he felt better quickly!

He felt better only AFTER he took a nap when the 5k was over, but it took him a few days to fell more like himself again.

A sight for sore eyes!

Think this was the only time I got such a good shot of the sign!

More yay!

Our bus luck ran out as you'll see in my latest post.

Envious! I need another!

I have to stop buying them. I don't use them as much but I just like looking at them!

Um...no way!

Yup horrendous line at the expo.

I guess I've heard people talk about this but I never really knew there was another building? Obviously, I've never stayed there.

Yup it's the cheap seats in the back...well not exactly cheap but cheaper than staying at the Main building which is too $$$.

I was gonna say that the sinks look cool, but I understand how the functionality wasn't that great.

Yup form over function here![/QUOTE]

It's also good for stowing away some extra desserts...but they started giving them out at the viewing location and not at the dessert party...maybe because people had this same idea? *guilty* :rotfl:

Good idea :rotfl:

I got the Passion Fruit Tapioca Créme - Chocolate Crumble, Citrus Fruits

You are a much more adventurous eater than I am, but this looks about my speed. I enjoy rice pudding as well.

That's so much food! How will you do it?!

Ugh that's crazy!
