Taking the summer to drive to Florida

Hi All ~ We are thinking about driving SLOWLY to Florida all summer.

We will bring a tent, 4 sleeping bags, a cooler and a plan.

I need your help with the PLAN.

Please help with:

* inexpensive family campgrounds between Mississauga and Florida
* inexpensive hotels between Mississauga and Florida

I don't have any specifics, but if you stop at the tourist information booth that is just over the border in each state they have coupon books there for deals in that particular state. My parents often get hotels fairly cheap that way.

When it comes to inexpensive hotels you can't go wrong with any Hampton Inn location.

I will only echo stopping at the travel information stops just inside the borders of the states going down. If you are a member of CAA they might be able to help you as well -- or you can go on the KOA website and I'm fairly certain they could tell you where some campgrounds are.

Darn -- I knew I should have gone to teacher's college.

I always stay at KOA's on the way to California.
Not sure how many are on the east coast tho. I feel a little more comfortable at a KOA than a state park. And the almost always have a pool which is a great relaxer at the end of the day.
Plus they're cheaper than a motel.

Good luck on your plan. How nice to be able to take the time along the way.

We found a great campground in Kentucky just into the state that sites are 23 bucks I will pm you the info later on as I am at work currently.

Get the trusty Along I-75 by Dave Hunter. It will have the campsites listed, I think, along with the hotels. AND it will have lots of side trips, too!
