Taking the PTR Plunge..our November F&W Extravaganza...update 7/8 a Day in Marceline

Wow, that is so cool! Thanks for sharing the trip. I never even thought about there being anything in Marceline. That definitely sounds like a great trip for Disney fans. And how cool about your tour guide, knowing the family and everything.

It really was so awesome. I don't remember how I came to know about the museum, but I'm sure it was here on the boards. I've considered doing the Main St. to Marceline tour at MK and I think I just started poking around to see what, if anything, Marceline had to offer.

It really is worth it for the Disney fan as it is a glimpse into Walt's personal life that you don't come by that often and gives you a good foundation about how things came to fruition. It was amazing how many Disney fans were there from different places and at least one person in every group was wearing Disney attire!

Love your day one plans. I didn't realize that Old Key West was so beautiful; although, I have heard lots about the Gurgling Suitcase and the famous Turtle Krawl. We are also hoping to catch the fireworks from the Poly Beach, I keep hearing that it's a lovely place to set up camp.

Your day in Marceline sounds lovely!

OKW really is lush and lovely. I know a lot of people don't like it because they feel it is too much like a condo complex, but that's one of the things I really love about it. It's spread out and private and you get a lot of space all to yourself. It feels much more like a relaxing vacation when you're there and it's a great yin to the parks' yang.

The one thing I will say is that we always have a car with us so don't have to rely on the intra-resort shuttle if we don't want to. I guess I can see how that would be annoying if your are either unable to or don't feel like walking somewhere; but they do run quite frequently so I don't know that it would delay you that much.

I'm really looking forward to the Poly beach fireworks. I don't know if you've seen any of Robo's maps on here, but he has posted maps showing all of the different angles for viewing and he seems to believe that the best spot is the beach in front of the Hawaii building as it's a great view of the castle. I think that's where we will try to go!

Marceline sounds SO awesome! I didn't realize that was down there (I know, shame on me.. .and I call myself a Disney fan?!?).

Loved seeing the pictures- thanks for sharing!! And sounds like you had a nice mini get-away!

Upscale BBQ and all! :)

And now double digits!!! :)

Did you see they released the menus for the F&W booths today?!

Li Li yes I did see the menu and have printed it out and pretty much planned on what I'm getting at each place.

I forget is this yours and Nigel's first time to F&W?

If not what are your must haves from the menus, or what are you looking forward too?

personally for me the tuna poke is something I will probably eat three times!!!! It is just soooo good. Funny thing is growing up in the midwest my history with fish was frozen breaded Mrs. Pauls stuff. I moved to NC for five years and tried fresh fish in a restaurant and now I'm a junkie, especially for the raw or chemically cooked stuff. I could just eat it all the time.

I so wish I was close to a coast and could have fresh fish without paying an arm and a leg for stuff that is flown in.

When ever Jayners and I travel to a coastal area I insist on getting fresh fish and shellfish while there. Poor lil Jayne is allergic to shellfish, I would shoot myself, though she has never had it so she insist it is no biggie. I have offered to drive her to the ER parking lot with a togo order of scallops but she always turns me down :confused3

This PTR is woefully in need of an update, thus my lengthy post here, hopefully someone organized gets on it soon before readers flee the sceene :hourglass

We are under 75 days...what is your count?

Yes, it will be first time at F&W for Nigel and me. So excited! We made a list of things we'd like to try, but it is about 25 items long!!! We'll probably just end up winging it based on line lengths. Definitely want to check out Scotland, Canada and New Zealand had some lamb meatball (I think) that sounded good.

Nigel and I are opposites on seafood. I like fish but not really shellfish (although I have been branching out lately). And Nigel loves shellfish but doesn't like fish-fish, like salmon. Frustrating for both of us! Jayne's probably right, can't miss what you've never had!

try the lamb chop at New Zealand, that was a real bone gnawer

could have sworn I heard a promise about a post update for today????? :confused3

Uh oh, are we mortal enemies right now? Go Bucs!!! (You gotta give us one, we haven't been in playoffs since '92!)

If you make it past Boston then I might consider you a threat

I'll find out tonight how my Cards are going to behave in the playoffs. I hope they behave like the gritty underdogs they can be and not the overly confident team they can be against lesser teams.

If all things work out we sill watch the Cards win game 7 and then head out for Disney the next morning. I like that plan

Oops, some team confusion. I meant Bucs as in Buccaneers aka the Pirates. Is that nickname just a PA thing maybe? Anywho, I'll be hoping the overly confident Cards show up ;)

Well how stupid of me.

Nope I knew the Pirates were called the Bucs, and I have no idea why I thought the Tampa bay Football team would be playing in the American league playoffs

I'm a maroon!!!

So in answer to your original post yes we are mortal enemies and you and your kind must be extinguished from the playoffs.

So sorry
