My wife has a business trip coming up in March to Orlando. Unfortunately the hotel is in Universal instead of Disney BUT a trip either way. So we were thinking of taking our son down. All we have to pay for is airfare for my son and I. My delima is we would need to pull him out of school! He is in second grade excelling in math and everything else but struggling in reading comprehension... Soooo should we pull him out of school?

I would, it is only 2nd grade.

I am going to move you over to our pre-trip board.

You will probably meet people on this board, that is going the same time as you.

Happy planning!!

Pulling the kids out of school is a personal decision. We never did until 2 years ago when we pulled them out of 6th & 1st grades for 2 days for a Thanksgiving vacation and 1 day for greatgrandma's 90th b'day. They don't know it yet but they will be missing 1 day before spring vacation to go to WDW next April (DH's work schedule or else wouldn't have done it). Both kids do well in school and are almost never sick. Don't think that we'll do it again once DS is in high school next year.
As far as reading comprehension, do you think it would make a difference if your son was in school for those days? If yes, then maybe that is your answer. If no, then perhaps you could work with him while on vacation - reading a little bit every day and talking about what you read. Could also get him involved in reading guide books and helping with the planning; just would need to think about what would help the comprehension part. Or just let him have fun with his parents while he is young :) . You could even challenge him to work harder by setting goals to reach before the trip - like if his teacher sees improvement, he can pick a souvenir or something (not knowing your son at all, don't know if that would be motivation or have the opposite effect if struggling).
No matter what, do what you as his parents think is best for him and for your family
