Taking Mom, She has Cancer/Norwalk or just concerned about nothing, going 10-25-03

Worry about norwalk virus. Not going until 10-03 but want this to be one of the best trips for our family. Also worried if she gets sick. We have vaction protection plan added to your package and did everything through DCL. Any advice?

We're going in two months.

When we found out my mother-in-law had cancer, we got her and my father-in-law a room, as well as my sister-in-law and her kids.

This way, she can hopefully have a nice, memorable vacation with her grandkids and daughters because, well, because you never know.

All three rooms are on vacation insurance, and my advice to you is to find out from your mom what special needs she may have (refrigerator, etc.), get the form from DCL that needs to be signed by a doctor, and send it in ASAP.

I'd also make sure the kids understand that , at any moment, the cruise may have to be cancelled.

It is so wonderful that you both are giving your Mom /MILaw opportunity to take such a wonderful trip! Yes, I agree, be sure to get a medical form from Disney and list any health problems, medications, doctors orders, etc.
As far as the Norwalk, I would not stress over it. Disney has gone overboard taking extra precautions. Norwalk has been around for years everywhere and you could pick it up anyplace at
anytime - the ship is no worse. If her resistance is down, you already know to be extra careful and what to do. I know what you are dealing with as my Dad has cancer and I know the toll it can take on a family. Good luck, I hope everything works out and you have a wonderful cruise!
