Taking leftovers

My DD-6 and DS-7 would love to try some of the desserts when we eat at TS restaurants, but I don't think they would be able to eat them after a meal. As I would rather they ate a dinner than a dessert can we order their desserts to go (excluding ice-cream of course)?
TIA

I've never had a problem taking leftovers at WDW restaurants. The problem is what to do with them. No prob if you're on your way back to your resort, but carrying a piece of cake around in the backpack all afternoon ..... :sad2:

I've been pondering this same question. So far the only thing I can come up with is the old fashioned metal (read crushproof) lunchboxes with maybe those blue ice packs in them. But I too want to be able to take my dessert to go without worrying about crushing or spoiling.

Maybe a locker would work for desserts that don't need refrigeration? Or I was thinking they might be okay in the stroller basket.

Would they be willing to split a meal and then each get their own dessert? Probably depends on if they are big eaters or not, but it might be worth a try!

I would consider splitting a meal instead and enjoying dessert there than trying to keep up with it all day, unless you are leaving immediately. You are always free to take leftovers, yes, if you want to ;)

We have taken leftovers with us many times but are always returning to our room or my mom's house.

We found that we "found" room to have dessert at several meals on our last trip as they were too delicious to skip! Esp the new "Happiest Celebration" ones that are usually chocolate orange in flavoring (a fave of mine!). We split 1 between the 3 of us and were able to finish it off usually.

Thanks for all of the replies. We will be eating our meals then returning to our room, so carrying the desserts wouldn't be a problem. They could easily share meals, I just hadn't thought of that because we will be on the dining plan. Started calling for my ADRs yesterday, I have another 9 days until all meals are booked. We're getting so excited now :goodvibes

i was planning on doing the stroller basket thing. Hope it works. I like to eat my dessert later that night instead of right after a meal. I just enjoy it better that way.
