My fiance and I are traveling to WDW Jan 20-23. We are flying in from Kansas and should land about 11 AM. My cousin is picking us up and will be our morning transportation each day and we will be staying with her. It will be my fiance's first trip but my 5th.

We are planning to do:
Sat Jan 20 - Epcot and experience the Festival of the Arts
Sun Jan 21 - Magic Kingdom
Mon Jan 22 - Animal Kingdom

My question is simply this - what advice to you have for taking an adult for their first trip to WDW when it's not my first? My fiance isn't really a Disney person, but loves to travel and is really excited about our upcoming getaway.

Have them look over the attractions and note the ones that may interest them. Ask them what they think of when thinking of WDW to see if they have misconceptions. Do they like thrill rides or not? Do they want to spend a lot of time standing in lines? If not explain rope drop and FP+. Let them know that a schedule is flexible although I would commando from rope drop through the morning and then take it easy the rest of the day.

Any night time shows?

If you have good restaurants where you live then try not to focus too much on food unless it's a unique experience. IMHO, most of the food at WDW is mediocre at best and not worth fussing about unless you have some favorites.

Good luck.

Good luck turning your fiance into a Disney Person! (It took my husband two trips with me, but he is now hooked and wants to go more than I do.)

My advice - show her your favorites and explain why. Share what you love about the World (be it a ride, food, show, etc.) and hopefully it will rub off on her. And think of things that you think she will like. Like does she have a favorite princess movie? Meet that princess. A favorite animal - find it at AK. Thrill rides? Ride Space. Etc.

Have fun!

We love our WDW adult trips.

We love to spend time at EPCOT World Showcase, we spend a lot of our nights there. We like trying out new eateries and hitting our favorites. The shopping and exploring is so much fun.

We also spend time enjoying around the BW area. The dueling piano bar is a blast.

We also like to take the tours, Savor the Savannah and the Star Wars tour. Pick a dessert party, Illuminations Cruise or get a Cabana at TL.

Thank you all for your thoughts.

On our Epcot day I'm thinking we can arrive at the park about 12:30 or 1 and will try to eat fish and chips in England and then ride Soarin and Under the Seas. After that we'll spend the rest of the afternoon and evening exploring the world showcase.

On our Magic Kingdom day we will do rope drop and hit the morning hard. I'm thinking about leaving the park for lunch. Maybe go to Wilderness Lodge, the Poly or the Grand Floridian.

Any suggestions for a fun lunch getaway? We just got engaged and I thought something fun would be a great break for us.

We spent our honeymoon at Wilderness Lodge this past April/May and loved eating at Geyser Point. It was so nice to sit by the water and watch the boats go by.

I just looked at the menu and reviews on Geyser Point - I think we will do that for lunch on our Magic Kingdom day. I'm thinking to do rope drop and hit the morning hard but to leave the park and go have a nice relaxing lunch before we head back for the rest of the day.

I'm thinking about making this a theme to our trip. What are your other favorite resort or Disney Springs quick service restaurants?
