So, I'm 90% sure we are going to WDW in Oct., it will be for 6 nights/7 days..

Just looking for other families out there, who've done it with an infant and survived..My goal is that he will still be nursing, but at that point, the nursing should be down to 3-4 times per day, so not a big deal.. Wondering what rides we'll be able to take the baby on, and did any of you have truobles with over stimulation?? He's only 6 weeks old right now, and for the most part, he's pretty laid back, hoping it stays that way! My last ? (for now) do Disney resorts provide pack-n-plays.. We are driving, but don't have one and I don't really want to spend the $ just for this trip.

Thanks for any help/insight!

You will be fine...remember...there are thousands of mommies who bring their babies to disney every year and they're fine.
We just did disney with our 18 month old which is a far cry from an 8 month old I know...but somethings to keep in mind....

Epcot is full of slow moving rides...great for baby to take little snoozes on...not a lot of fast rides but lots to see

Magic Kingdom has a few rides that baby will do fine on...remember It's a Small World!

Take a blanket to throw over the front of the stroller so it block out some light and noise for the baby when he's trying to sleep.

Disney does have pack-n-plays available on site.

Just remember...you arent going to be able to do a park allllll day long with one that small....you'll prob have to come back to the hotel for some down time and naps...go with the flow and just make up your mind you will enjoy whatever you guys can get out of it.

Have fun and relax!

Oh, you should have a great time! We took DS last December when he was 13 months and he was great. He loved being outdoors for the entire trip and enjoyed the shows and rides so much we are returning in May! 8 months will be perfect! He will love the sights and sounds and will still be old enough to enjoy almost all the rides. My DS even went on Pirates and Haunted Mansion:)

Just make sure to utilize the Baby Care stations. They are wonderful:)

Also bring a backpack with you to act as a diaper bag. It's so much better than trying to drag a DB around the parks:)

Have a fantastic trip in October!

I'm going to take my little girl down in August - she'll be 11 months old - I'll make sure to post a full report of our stay and how she did when I return!!!

I went with an 8 month old last july and it was a blast. We used a sling and went on loads of rides. the only rides we couldn't do were things with height restrictions.

It was so easy. This trip I am taking a 16 month old and I think it will be quite a bit harder

Oh, can I get tips too? We're almost positive that we'll head down with our boys in October as well (They'll almost be 1). I think it'll be way fun, but a little stressful too, so hopefully people will be along with more insight!

You will do GREAT! Disney is very baby friendly! We went when my youngest was 5 months old and my oldest was almost 4. We had a great time (and have been 2 times since!!!) The baby was fascinated by the characters! She LOVED Donald Duck and more importantly his beak!!!! When you need some quiet time, go to one of the baby centers and relax. If you are relaxed and can go with the flow, you will be fine! When Brenna cried when we tried to leave Donald we stood a few more minutes off to the side to let he watch him until she was ready to go, etc. Go and enjoy! It'll be great!

We took our daughter when she was almost 10months old and it was amazing!!! There are plenty of rides to bring a little one on. Just plan ahead!

We had the best time with the characters! Here's a pic of Cinderella - who left her line of 'fans' to sit with our DD who was 'playing' with one of her mice! The pictures and the memories from that trip are priceless to us! :cloud9:

We just got back from a trip with our 2 year old and our 6 month old. The baby was easier than the toddler. :) We kept to our kids' schedules, and that made for happier little ones. My little guy nursed where he needed to with no problems. We rented cribs from A Baby's Best Friend because I wanted them to sleep as well as they do at home. The baby got a little overstimulated at the restaurants with all the noise, but overall, we didn't have any problems. Good luck and have a good trip!

We went in Oct 2008 with a 2.5 year old and 10 months, I thought it was a piece of cake.

We didn't have any melt downs. Which I was surprised about.

Seth was still being breastfed, even though we were down to 3-4 feeds a day, I found myself giving it to him more because of the heat. I fed on so many different rides, he would usually drift off to sleep, he was so easy going (which is surprising as he can be a bit high maintenance at home)

I took a sling, pics in trip report, which was great because when you took him out of the stroller, I just slotted him into the sling and it meant I had a free hand if I needed it for Cullen but also meant I didn't do my back in holding on to him.

My tips.

1. Stay offsite rent somewhere with more than 1 room. To stay happy you have to sleep well. We could not have all slept in the one room, Seth was still waking in the night, he would have woken Cullen. Some people won't agree but I thought it was the best idea for us.

2. Hire a car, drive to the parks, the kids slept in the car, Seth - the baby slept in the stroller but Cullen did most of his sleeping in the car. You can do what you like when you like.

3. Stick to their normal routine the best you can. We ate around the time they normal ate at home.

4. Don't try to do too much, save some stuff for next time. We didn't even attempt the World Showcase because we just didn't have time and I thought the kids wouldn't get as much out of it as they would have other places in WDW. So that was saved for next time.

5. We got to the parks at opening and we left around 3.30/4.00 depending on how the kids were going but we didn't return. The kids had one late night which was the MNSSHP night but the rest of the nights they were in bed close to their normal bed time of 7.30.

6. If bubs is crawling, allow time to stop and let them crawl around. We stopped in a couple of different places and he loved it and was much happier being put back in the pram afterwards.

These things worked for us, and we had a great time.

I have a trip report linked at the bottom of my signature if you are interested in reading it.

What ever happens you will have a great time.

I'm rather interested in this thread - we are thinking about taking a trip in December - my DD will be 14 months at the time

You will have the BEST time with your 8mo - they are so easy at that age! Disney is very baby-friendly and with him nursing, you will always be prepared! Take advantage of the baby-care centers in each park. They are really great for nursing, changing and just getting away from all the hustle and bustle of the parks. If you're on the other side of the park, just find a quiet spot or slow-moving ride to nurse him on. When DS was 4 months, we stayed on TTA 3 times until he was done nursing! As long as you have a stroller that he can sleep in, you can be at the parks as long as you want. The resorts do have pack n plays. I always bring a can of Lysol and spray it down (along with the entire room) just in case there were any "sick" germs before we got there. I also bring my own sheets for the pack n play. There are so many rides you can go on with him - you will really have a great time!
