Taking Advantage of Hotel 180 Days + 10 Days Out

Hi!

Is it possible to book a hotel stay for your first night in Disney/Orlando (only one day) and still book 10 days out? For instance, if I were to book a hotel room on Friday the 1st, can I book reservations for the 10 days out (180 days prior to the 1st) even if I don't stay on-site for the remaining days? Or do they only allow you to book reservations for the days within that "10 days out" for which you have reservations at the hotel?
