Taking a pop-up for the very first time, any tips?

We will be headed to the Fort weekend after next for our FIRST excursion in our new (to us) pop up that has been sitting in our driveway for the year.

Hubby just got the new wheels on it and the garage where we took it checked on a few other things for us. So it is good to go.

We've been tent camping before--but first time in a camper...we're moving on up!!!!

Any tips for us first-time camper campers?

During cooler weather I take an electric ceramic heater to help keep the chill off in my pop-up. It saves a lot of propane for the furnace.

I takes a lot of patience to back those things into the sites just right, so instead of getting stressed out just practice some Lamaze breathing (and DH too) while backing in.

Also, on our last trip, the dolly part of the trailer tongue (not sure exactly what it's called) sank into the sand mixture on the site, so next time we will either keep the tongue on the pavement or bring a piece of plywood to put under it. (I hope that makes sense to you)

If it is an older popup, (like we use to have), have a tarp handy that will cover the top and bootends of you camper, just in case!!!!

My family will be taking our new (to us) pop-up to FW Feb. 3 - 9. We can't wait. We stayed at FW in a tent back in October and absolutely loved the campgrounds.

Last March we decided to buy a pop up camper before our trip to FW. FW was the very first place we camped in it. Two website forums with great info are irv2dotcom and popupportaldotcome.
