Taking a bag on rides?

I’m planning on bringing a small sling backpack for my family just to hold sunscreen/a few extra masks...not big at all. Am I allowed to bring this on rides? If bags aren’t allowed are there lockers or somewhere I can put this bag outside of each ride?

There are a few rides no bags or carry on is allowed
Ones that come to mind right now are Hulk, RRR/coaster and Men in Black
Lockers are free for those brand free rides.

Hulk and RRR allow no bags, phones, glasses cases, etc. Other rides allow a three prong fanny pack. I have seen some get on rides with a small cross body bag, but not sure if that is norm or was just overlooked.

Gringtos and Harry Potter Journey there is a free locker to put stuff in

I had seen some reports of Forbidden Journey recently allowing small bags besides fanny packs. It may have been a test to see how they can reduce crowding in or long waits for the locker room.

I've been wondering this about wands. We may be bringing my eldest son's best friend with us, which would mean we would have 3 wands in our group. Can those go on the rides or must they go in a locker, and are the lockers at the rides free? One thought I had was to wait until we are done with the rides before going to Ollivanders.

Yep, I was allowed to bring my cross-body purse on Forbidden Journey much to my surprise.

The small size lockers at the rides are free. Any ride that requires a locker would not let wands on. I have never had a wand so perhaps someone else can comment on the wands fitting in them. Free locker size from another website - (14 in. x 5.5 in. x 16.9 in.) Sounds current but the article wasn't dated!

Most wands and boxes easily fit into the free lockers. The exception is the Elder Wand. That wands box is longer than the others and the only way to fit it into the locker was to put it in diagonally and fit the other locker items around it.

Before covid, many would say do the wand interaction first as less crowds in the Potter sections.

Onsite hotel guests have each morning entrance to the park before it opens to the public at 9.
Many will hit potter sections first

Now with a cut back on number of peeps in the parks, do not know first hand if the above is still valid.

Be advised that some TMs don't know the small fanny packs allowed rule. On Men in Black I was made to use a locker, even though I was allowed to wear it on Hagrids and Forbidden Journey. I tried to explain but he was adamant, so I just stowed it rather than waste time.

I'd do Ollivander's first. And I would send the boxes to the park pick up area for later or to your hotel if staying onsite. The boxes are a drag to carry around, imo. We don't have the Elder wand but one of the ones we have has a long box too.

Glad to know the wand boxes fit in the lockers. We wern't sure, and have not made time to do the interactive wand spots , due to worry over what to do with the wands while we did rides all day. We are very much repeat riders. next trip....whenever that may be....we'll make sure to get wands early and not worry about the lockers. I also recommend devoting early hours to that, even if you have to give up some rides, if that's important. There can be lines of 5 or more at each wand spot later in the day, or there used to be. who knows with the current state.
Also, I have mostly worn fanny packs in the past, and they can be covered by a shirt on most rides, like FJ. I've never ridden the Hulk, but you cannot have ANYTHING on that ride. Hubby had a metal carabiner clipped to belt, that he forgot to put in locker, and he had to get out of line, and go back and store it. However, last trip I went back to a backpack. I like to carry lots of stuff in the park, and the fanny pack was not big enough. The back pack was not stuffed, so it did flatten to fit into lockers, without issues, but it was a regular sized backpack, just had to make sure it could squash down
