Hello,

We will be on disney dining plan- me, dh, ds -8yrs, my sister and her 2yr old son.

My family really enjoys nice sit down dinners. My sister has a hard time with her 2yr old. Can she order her meal from the check in stand, then take it back with her to the room, or does she need to sit down at the table with us first, order, then head back?

Thanks!

I don't honestly know, but I don't think take away is a usual service at WDW's full service restaurants. You can only ask!

TS restaurants generally don't do take out. There are exceptions, of course; you may find some that will do it if they're not busy. But the kitchens just aren't staffed for take out, and it certainly isn't a routine thing like you can get at Applebee's or Ruby Tuesday's.

As for the idea of ordering the meal and taking it back to the room, whether or not that will be workable will depend on where you're staying, and where the TS is located. If you're thinking of doing this at the resort you're staying at, it should be fine.

If you're talking about doing take out from a theme park restaurant, or from a restaurant at a different resort, that's a whole other question. It can take quite a while to walk from a restaurant to the park exit, and then a good while to get back to your resort via Disney transportation. Odds are at least an hour will have gone by from the time she picks up the food till she arrives at the room, and it's not going to be very tasty.
