Didn't really want to put this in the Trip Reports section since it's really more about how to tour the parks in this weather (101F Heat Index today at Orlando Int'l Airport)

We've managed to take breaks after lunch every day (Except our day at Epcot but there's a lot to see and do inside there that it didn't matter).

But, today since I changed the itinerary to sleep in this morning so we could enjoy Yacht Club a bit more even though it was a great day to hit MK early (we've been at the turnstiles before opening 3 days in a row before today) and we ended up hitting MK a little after 1pm.

It's H O T !

Sweat-formed-pools hot

Can't impress enough to take post-lunch breaks back to the hotel and swim and or nap or something. We've all done the research and some others have gone the TourGuideMike route (shameless plug for EXCELLENT advice) so there's no need to wander around parks in this afternoon sun in Orlando.

Ok, 'nuff of that. Time for a quick shower and then it's off to our ADR at Crystal Palace (we walked past on the way to the CR and felt sorrow for those poor souls sitting outside on the deck waiting for a table).

I hear you. I hit the parks UO and WDW 7/6-7/15. Breaks were helpful. I followed TGM's touring plans and found that by lunchtime I had hit the highlights and could take the afternoon off--though I think I only did that twice!

I agree with you about the breaks. The other plus is that usually you miss the afternoon rainshower and can go back in the evenings in dry clothes.

nightowlky! So glad you are having a great time and putting to good use all the TGM info. Can't wait to hear more about your trip. Did you really use all that stuff you packed? :)

WE do it everytime out of the parks by one. We rest swim and head back at night. :thumbsup2

It is great to get those breaks in. I think everybody feels better and has a better time. Toddlers especially get over stimulated by everything and really need a quiet break and I know I love a nap before dinner.

We've pretty much used it all, even the $1 ponchos (had some rain/lightning leaving Epcot after Princess Storybook Dining and the boat back to YC wouldn't leave the dock so DD urged me to break out the ponchos and we walked back) Although, the camcorder is in the car. Haven't used it once, just the video cam option on the digicam (recorded all of Fantasmic, Illuminations, Spectromagic. Missed Wishes tonight as we were riding BTMRR and Space Mtn and using up our FPs. :teeth:

BTW, I had 99,900 on the 1st trip thru Buzz Lightyear and 116,000 on the 2nd. Getting better ;)

Spoke to a couple families waiting on Spectro and one didn't know you could use the FPs after the FP return window while the other did. Both were staying off-site so they'd been in the parks all day but MK was their only WDW park of their respective days so I guess I'd have done the same.

But, so glad we've been taking post-lunch breaks. No way we've have been able to do 3 park openings in a row and we're going to shoot for one tomorrow morning at MGM and one more on Fri. at MK (our last day at WDW :( )
