Well my vote for Smileybug is Disney World but I guess the Biltmore is ok, too!

I don't remember if I've mentioned it here or not but we are looking into a family trip to DC next spring, with a stop at Gettysburg on the way down. We would camp to keep the lodging costs down (as well as meals) and just about everything in DC is free, so we think we can do it. It's someplace we've been wanting to go, and with home schooling the boys it's just about the ultimate American History field trip! Personally I'm super-excited about Gettysburg. I was a History major in college and 19th-century American History is my favorite. The kids want to do a haunted tour at night! I'm going to do a 2-hour detailed history tour of the area and battlefield on horseback!!

Let me know when you plan on coming down. I'm about an hour away from Gettysburg.

I figured Legomom and SadieDog would be laughing at us. You know what, though? I blame it all on dh's uncle. Everytime he drives down from Upstate New York, he brings his nasty weather with him.

I hate that first time smell. The kids keep asking if I burnt dinner.

You know I'd be all on board with Biltmore. I absolutely love it around Christmas. I think the girls and I are going to take an all girls trip during the flower and garden festival this year when the tickets are still free for kids 12 and under (all girls' trip meaning my girls, me, my best friend and the little girl she cares for--she's a nanny).

I would love to see Biltmore in the spring time. With their extensive gardens I bet it is just incredible.

That sounds like a great ringtone. The one I have when dh calls is "That's How You Know" from Enchanted.

I knew you'd laugh at us. We southerners can't handle weather colder than 60 degrees. Not until December at least.

That's gonna be my poor dad when he's up for a visit in 2 days!! Right now it's 40 degrees outside and holding steady at 69 inside. I don't plan to run the wood stove tonight if it's still this warm this late!

Verizon has a whole slew of 'em! I've also got the main theme from Pirates of the Caribbean (movie), and my current ring-back tone (what you hear when you call me) is the Two Hornpipes music from the Tortuga bar scene in Pirates 2!

Well, I jusr caved. It's supposed to be 41 degrees here tonight and I finally turned on the heat in the house. I sure hope we leave this mess behind for good weather in Florida. DH had to defrost his truck this morning.

We have a cold front coming through on Sunday with a high of 79 (not counting humidity) and a low of 66. So no need for heat here. Maybe a pair of pants at night rather than shorts for the wimpy (aka Floridians.)

LegoMom, Gettysburg and DC will be a great trip. As I said before, we stopped at Gettysburg for a few hours on our drive back from Memphis TN last Xmas. I loved it and want to get back there someday. I would also like to do haunted and horseback tours. I have not been to DC since I was pregnant for my son. My friend in Memphis used to live in Maryland which made DC trip possible once when we visited her.

You guys have got me interested in Biltmore. I need to google it. The mention of waterfall and hiking really sparked my interest.

Creativeamanda, glad you eye is feeling better. My sinus problems all stem from allergies. Rotten allergies!!!

DH said that about the Rays. The two playoff games he went to here at home, they lost. He had a chance to go the last night when they won, but was afraid to. One, he didn't want to spend that much to watch them lose again. Two, there were some very loud, obnoxious Sox fans he was worried he'd hit. Three, we couldn't get a babysitter for me to go too.

Now he's going out of town and won't be here for the World Series. He gave away our presale code, which we found was selling for $100. I hope the guy who got the tickets is very nice to DH in return if the game comes back for 6 & 7.
