Well, I got bed news today. . .My paraprofessional who works with me in the mornings sent me an email to tell me she had resigned. One week before school begins and I have no back up in the classroom. I could crawl under a rock right now. I think I'm gonna be sick.

First of all, I guess it was bad news and not bed news, although when I read the email, I felt like just going back to bed. . .

They'll look for someone, but it is hard to find a parapro (they either have to have passed a test or have a Associate's degree) and then even harder to find one for a class that has children with moderate to severe disabilties. I am pretty sure I'll be working for the first 1-2 months with no assistant. I think it's rotten that she chose to tell us when teachers go back tomorrow. I knew her personally before this and stuck my neck out for her to get her hired. I am just plain sick.

Yes, they all had a great time. One of her friends is staying with us a couple of days. It's a friend from when we've lived in Orlando that we keep in touch with. My DD will go to their house for a few days later this week. DD's actual birthday is tomorrow. So I did all my shopping for her today. I figured I'd avoid any doubles by waiting until after her party to buy her presents. I got her a digital camera, a real one. Last year, I bought her a Hello Kitty camera that really stunk. This one was less than twice the price and it's high quality. I also got her Pokemon stuff. That's her current obsession.

This is begining to sound like a birthday week in stead of a birthDAY!! My DD insist on birthday weeks as well. That is where I first learned of this new tradition.
