LegoMom - we're glad to know you're safe. I hope they are able to restore your power soon.

How does your family keep warm during the day without the generator?

Thanks DO. We have a wood stove that we run 24/7, so even with no electricity, we stay mighty toasty! This definitely turned out to be the year to have it! (we just installed it over last summer). This coming week with the exception of one day is supposed to be well over freezing, so most of this junk should melt away.

I wish I could send some wood up to you. Our fireplace is a wood burning fireplace and for Christmas dh got a log splitter for his tractor. We have 2 cords of wood right now and an endless supply of dying trees that have to be removed, cut up, and split.

We don't have enough wood for the winter. Our woodstove doesn't heat the house. It's in the cellar and warms the floors and the room that is above the stove. It does make a big difference when we use it though. It would be nice to have a supply like you have on your land.

Ok, Mean Queen, I just discovered that there are TWO "Melting Pot"s down in MA!!! .....well pull me out of the woods and call me a hill-billy, I never knew that.

I"m so cold right now I'm thinking about hanging out in my bed. My mouse hand is like ice. Maybe I'll just go to bed to read and watch TV. At least it's warm under the covers. :lmao:

At least you are able to have internet access while in exile. Otherwise, that would be just unbearable.

We went to DHS last night to see the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights. Since we don't have snow down here, that's as close as we get to it. I heard so many people talking about how many inches of snow they were going back home to. I'll post pictures later of the lights. We were going to try to see the castle lights too, but instead managed to walk into Fantasmic 5 minutes before the show started. DD2 wasn't scared at all! My oldest was a little scared when she was her sisters age.

Today we headed over to Animal Kingdom. It was perfect weather for that park. We saw all the characters dressed in their holiday wear and visited Rafiki's Planet Watch. We haven't been there in over 5 years! It's just something we forget to do. :confused3 We only stayed half the day so we could come home.

DH is traveling for work tomorrow so he needed laundry. Plus, our tree has been up but wasn't decorated. :rolleyes1 It's a sad, sad, little tree. I think I'm going to have to go against all I was raised to believe in and get a fake tree next year.

You'll have to check one out. I went Friday for my friends birthday. We had to be rolled out of there like Violet in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

All I know is I could never live that far north.

It's actually pretty cold here too! We're actually burning a log in the fireplace :) SO cozy :cloud9:

I love Christmas lights and would love to see the Osborne lights someday. I have not had the chance to see Fantasmic either. When I went in Oct, it was closed.

 Fake tree
Actually we will be away a week for Xmas and won't have a tree. Oh wait, maybe we will have a small tabletop fake one I can borrow from my mother. :lmao:

I'm still tired this morning. Survivor didn't get over till 11:30 b/c of football. :woohoo: Bob, from Maine won! :woohoo:

I don't know if we've ever gotten a real tree  I want to try it next year! I used to always help my friend get hers, we had to saw it and everything :rotfl: That was always interesting

We cut ours down too. Takes awhile for everyone to agree with one. Well, my daughter is pretty picky.

Since there aren't tree farms here (unless you are looking for a Palm tree), we go to the store and pick one out. The pickings got pretty slim this year (my tree is very slim!) If I can get a good deal on a really nice fake one, we'll get one. Otherwise, we'll just hope for a better batch of real ones next year.

And note the signature line ticker. I put the reservations on a 14 day hold with AAA today and will go by the AAA vacations location in Fayetteville to pay the deposit on Friday.

We're gonna do Thanksgiving, but not MVMCP as I don't think it will live up to MNSSHP. Then again, we might do it just to say we did both. It will be our last trip until dh's and my 25th wedding anniversary, when we will have to find someone (anyone) who wants to keep our three kids for 5 days. Any takers? :rotfl: :lmao:
