LegoMom, to your son.

Happy Birthday!

:jumping1: party: :bday: party: :jumping1:

No time for much more planning. We leave Friday! OMG must pack. It doesn't seem real.

:scared1: Friday! That's pretty quick. Where are you going? What are you doing? I'll be there this weekend for my girl's only weekend.

Like I told my DD this morning, you have to make your own happiness. You can't always stress about the bad, otherwise life isn't worth it.

Our trip is Oct 10 - 17, Fir to Fri. We are excited that Jet Blue came to our little airport and has a 2:20 direct flight to Orlando Fri, Sat, and Sun. Direct flight is VERY exciting for us in Maine.

We could not stay on site like we really wanted, but that's ok. Better than not going at all. We will save on site for next time and all the more special it will be. I wanted a 2 bedroom place in order to have room for my mother and my best friend, Jen. My mother would not have gone if she had to pay for accomodations, even though she has the $ to pay for it. I also wanted to make it as easy as possible for Jen to be able to come. She is arriving Friday night and leaving Monday morning. She is bringing her youngest son who is 10 months. She is very concerned he is going to be a pain, but it will work out. We are "family by choice" and my kids call her "Aunt Jenny." My mother is "different" and I hope we can get along. That can be a difficult task. She is 70 and loves It's A Small World and thought she would never get back to Disney so we are trying to make it work. She will be driving down with 1 of my brothers, his wife, my 11 year old neice and her friend who is actually in my sons class. My brother and family will be staying somewhere else. I just hope we can all get along. We won't be together every second so that should help. Family can be "interesting." We also have different vacation styles. They like to get up at the crack of dawn and be at a place before opening. That is NOT us. Teenagers especially don't want to get up too early. Believe me, you want them to get a little sleep. Will make for a more pleasant day for us.

I also wrote down LegoMom's TSM advice although very doubtful we will be there for opening. Our 1st day, Sat we will be at Magic Kingdom. I thought that was probably the best place for a 10 month old. I think he can go on many of the rides and do baby swap for others. I hope that goes smoothly. Since we are not on site, that was an incentive to spend a day at Universal. Obviously we have to pick and choose the most important rides to us. Universal is Sunday and Sunday night is HHN. We are very exicited about HHN. My daugher paid for her Universal tickets with her summer job $. We just could not pay for everything. Jen and I will have to leave Universal early enough to bring her baby back to our place for my mother to watch. Then we will have to drive back to Universal for HHN. It will be a LONG exhausting day. My mother is not going to Universal and has no interest in their Halloween Party. Monday morning Jen leaves and we take it easy until MNSSHP. My mother is going to that one. We are dressing as the Scooby Doo gang and she is Scooby. We won't see my brother and family that day b/c they chose to do a 2nd day at Universal. more later :)

You have alot going on. Sounds GREAT!! I hope everything comes together for ya'll. But it sounds like you have a really good handle on everything. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great trip SadieDog! Make sure to stop by Epcot and check out the Food & Wine Fest while you are there.

Your friend will be fine with a 10 month old. If she has a baby carrier, like Baby Bjorn, that works great. I carried my DD around and could get on and off the rides whether she was asleep or not. Have her check out the baby centers if she wants a quiet place to rest and feed the baby.

See....I knew you would have tips to offer. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

So do these baby centers have chairs so you can sit and nurse your baby?

I think I left off with Monday going to MNSSHP. We will be doing 2 night things in a row so I assume we will be moving slowing Tuesday morning. We won't be in any hurry. That would be a good day for our least favorite park, Hollywood Studios. (I keep wanting to call it MGM.) We must do Toy Story, Rock Roll Coaster and Tower of Terror. I think my mother would like The Great Movie Ride too. We saw Indiana Jones 3 years ago and no one wants to sit through it again. My family does not like to watch too many shows. I like the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area too. Cute for pictures. None of us cared for Star Tours and it made my daughter and I very sick so that is out. If we feel like doing more we will and if we don't that is ok too. As long as we get the 3 major rides in, we will be happy.

Wed will be Epcot. I look forward to checking out Food and Wine Fest. I've heard that Canada's cheese soup is a must. I only eat poulty and fish/seafood as far as meat goes so that leaves out many samples for me. My son has had beef and pork at other peoples homes and really likes it so he is sure to want to try some.

Thursday will be Animal Kingdom. Looking forward to Everest and we love Dinosaur. If we are feeling up to it Tuesday, we may leave HS and make a quick trip to Animal Kingdom. We will just see how we feel and go with the flow.

I can answer about the baby centers. Yes...They do have chairs for nursing moms. From what I have read they are set up really nice.

The baby centers have nice, enclosed areas with comfy chairs to nurse in. It's great in the Summer because they have a/c.

The cheese soup is great, but it has bacon in it. So if you don't eat pork, you may want to skip it.

Baby centers sound nice.

WOW, thanks for the cheese soup warning. I have never read about the bacon. What a disappointment. I hope that it is clearly stated on the sign for those that are vegetarians or don't eat pigs for other reasons. Gee, I hope there is something I can eat. I still can't believe in all the times I have read "Cheddar Cheese Soup", I have never read about the bacon. It should be called Cheddar Cheese and/with Bacon soup.

On the sign, it mentions bacon. But most people think it's just sprinkled on top. It's not, it's a major part of the recipe. One of my friends doesn't eat pork, shellfish, or beef and was also happy I warned her. Though I hope if she asked for the soup without the bacon someone would have warned her. If you eat fish, try the maple glazed salmon. If the steak at Le Cellier wasn't so darn good, I'd order that there every time.

Thank you very much. :goodvibes

I see you're going to WDW in December; how fun! It's the best during the holidays! Have you gone during that time frame before? I'm trying to plan a trip to WDW next December and i'm not sure when the best time would be to do it.

I love going at Christmas time. The decorations are just soooo magical. :rotfl: We have never been during these dates before though. But from everyhing I have read this time frame seems to be a good one. We normally like to go in the Sunday after Thanksgiving and stay the week. Crowds have been pretty good then as well. So I guess we will just have to see. :goodvibes
