Well, I got the job. :cool1: It is an indefinite temp job. I work 8-5 pm. It will last till December and then they will decide if they will keep the job when they redo the budget. Know what do I do with my school district job?

I'm guessing you work more or less permanently for the school district? If so, and you're scheduled to start again in the fall, you have a problem! Myself, I wouldn't want to lose the SD job, since even though it's not summers, it's a shoe-in, at least for now. Unless your position there is one where you can suddenly just jump back in mid-year. Tough call.

Good morning pee-ples....

Well my day is off to a rockin' start. Like it didn't end badly enough yesterday with some issues with neighborhood kids and my kids. This morning at 7:00am my crazy-*ss neighbor behind me blasts the air horn at a bear.... If I suffered from high blood pressure, I'd be dead right now. I blew my top (keeping in mind that my kids are not quite up at 7:00, and DH works nights and is NEVER up at 7:00am!!!!). So I stormed out on our back deck and watched her yelling at this bear, then she shook some bells... ....So while she's right there at her porch door, I yell over "You've got a lot of nerve, you know that?" Of course she just slinks away without a word. Coward.

I really hate my neighborhood today.

I have to work. See y'all later. I'll try to be happy cuz it's Friday at least!!

Here, this will get y'all started:

Congratulations on the new job!!

As far as what to do...I would say you have some serious thinking to do. Could you take this job and leave when its time for school to start back? Just knowing that it could end in December is scary. Hang in there. You'll do the right thing.

Mornin' Smiley. Happy Friday.

Ok, I can't take credit for this because I took it off another thread, but I immediately thought of it after hearing this about your neighbor/bear situation this morning:
"Those of you traveling to the mountains this month should be alert for bears and take extra precautions to avoid an encounter. Park rangers often tell visitors to wear little bells on their clothes so they make noise when hiking. The bell noise allows bears to hear them coming from a distance and not be startled by a hiker accidentally sneaking up on them. Visitors should also carry a pepper spray can just in case a bear is encountered. Spraying the pepper into the air will irritate the bear's sensitive nose and it will run away. It is also a good idea to keep an eye out for fresh bear scat so you have an idea if bears are in the area. People should be able to recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear scat. Black bear droppings are smaller and often contain berries, leaves, and possibly bits of fur. Grizzly bear droppings tend to contain small bells and smell of pepper." Nope. I live in Southeastern MA in a pretty urban area. There is a reservation that edges part of the city, but I don't think there's any bear. Mostly just deer and likely fox and coyote.

The closest I've come to bear is visiting the Moon Bear at Roger Williams Zoo and the black bear they have on the Six Flags Safari in NJ.

Although, a black bear was spotted pottering around an area of RI not too far from me. But I think I heard, not too long ago, that they found him and he'd earned himself some wings.

So sad.

Frog is fantastic. They don't get much cuter than that.

I'm glad you are going to have a bear free day!! (I'm not happy for the one that earned himself some wings. Poor baby!!)

I'm heading out for the morning. Frog and I will talk to all of you lovelies later.

Checking in. I had to run my DD to camp. Now I'm relaxing at home. Though I do have to get everything ready for dress rehearsal tonight. There's nothing like picking your child up from camp in a double set of false eyelashes and black fishnet stockings. I think I'll be wearing long pants even though it's in the 90's here. I'd put the fishnets on later but those suckers take forever to get on without ripping.

Oh no, it would be much more interesting to go in full costume. :rotfl2:

I'm just happy the photography studios label is covering my mid-section. I'm hoping they keep that on the copy I buy.

I love the pic; you look great.

The recital sounds fun. I would enjoy watching it.

Thanks! I have to get my hair cut, colored and straightened tomorrow. I just hope it's not too rainy or my hair dresser won't waste the time trying to straighten my normally curly hair. The minute it rains, it just springs back or worse, frizzes out.

That's why you looked different. You had your hair straightened. I thought your hair looked curly from the Disney pics. It looks very nice both ways. Were you the one that is tall too? If so, we are opposites. I am petite with dirty blonde hair that is fine and straight as a board. I have trouble getting a wave in my hair to stay.

Yes, I am about 5' 11". With those heels, I'm 6' 1". My hair is normally thick and curly or wavy if I try to straighten it.

I'm 4' 13"....:rotfl2: I do have thick wavy hair though. It was quite curly when I was little. Now DS8 has it!

Well here's something new on our wildlife front: we have a Yellow Bellied Sapsucker that seems to have taken up residence in the fir tree right out front! They basically look like a woodpecker, but they drill holes in rows in trees to suck the sap (hence the name!). I have an apple tree that's full of 'em! (holes, not birds...)

Re: bears - NO grizzlies around here! Thank God. Although the way this neighborhood bear is fast becoming a nuisance bear, there's little difference when it comes to your safety...:sad2: My co-worker's wife works for the state in one of the environmental departments. He said never mind calling the police over this, go straight to Fish and Game. They'll be all over it.

I just watered my plants outside and noticed that I have three tomato plants with blossoms! Won't be long before little tomatoes pop up there. Just as well, with this salmonella deal going around (is that nationwide or regional??).
