Tagless Dis'ers / Formerly Tagless Dis'ers UNITE! - Part II

We get these days every summer, once or twice, but today is brutal because the last two days were 56 and rainy!!! That's a 40 degree jump, literally overnight! Monday is supposed to be the worst day; today was forecast at 90 and we hit 95 - Monday is forecast at 95 so it'll be a scorcher for sure.

I can't remember, are you in the eastern part of NC?? I remember some summers in Wilmington....Wow!!

.

Yep--I live near Lumberton. It's really laughable that we are going to Myrtle Beach for a 5-day vacation because we only live 45 minutes away. The problem with weather.com is that you can pretty much bet they and the National Weather Service are going to be wrong. I remember a couple of years ago, there were "severe storms" in our area. They told us later on there were no tornados. Really? Because that funnel cloud going across the farm must have been a figment of my imagination!

I'd hate a 40 degree jump. Especially where you live. I mean--one day, you're wearing jeans and a jacket, the next you are blasting the AC. I'm not sure what the weather was like here for a couple of days last week, but I am certain that it was no where this hot. When I left Fayetteville yesterday, I can assure you that by the time I hit the SC state line, it was still almost 100 degrees in the car with the air conditioning at full blast.

Wow, it was only like 94 here today. I'm near the coast in SC.

We are probably near each other, Smileybug! It generally runs 10 degrees warmer inland. In the summer, we tend to go closer to the coast one-two days a week to get a little cooler. It's odd that the beach is cooler than where we live, but that's the way it is. Like I said, I was in Fayetteville yesterday and it was unbelieveable. Today I had to go to Lumberton to run an errand and then quickly returned home before noon. I haven't left the house (or the AC) since.

Oh I remember hearing Lumberton on the Wilmington news!.... weather and traffic and such. I really miss our trips down there; lots of good memories.

We actually lived right over the river in Leland for about a year, in '98. I remember one summer storm where the winds were so strong it knocked out all the tall glass signs down on the main road! And my DH was out getting pizza through it all! There were no "official" funnel cloud sightings but I have never in my life seen the sky so dark!!!

You sure that none of it was crime?!? PEE-POLE around here sometimes make the Mansons look tame. When I lived in Columbia, I never heard about the crime I hear now. But then again, my neighbor is a detective.

When people say it sounds like a freight train, they are not kidding. I thought the cloud was coming straight for us. Then it turned, and oddly enough, traveled directly down our road.

Mornin'! :wave2:

What's new with you?!

.

I've been stressed about work. As you may recall, I have problems relating to my new boss who just a few months ago was a peer. Still getting used to 3rd shift ... it's a whole differen ball game now that it's warm ... Thanks for asking.

I'm sorry work isn't going too well. It is hard to be on the overnight shift when you have almost no dark to sleep in. Feel free to vent here if you need.

Maybe you will win big and Vegas and can tell that job where to shove it when you get back. :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh you and I had the same night!!!

Here was mine: DS8 slept in DS11's room last night. At midnight, DS8 wakes me up to say that his brother won't let him go to sleep and keeps making noises. We grab his pillow and stuff and go downstairs to put him in his own bed. At 5:00am, I hear someone walking around upstairs (main level). They go back downstairs, then I hear talking!! So down I go to tell them that despite the fact that the sun is up and it looks like day, it's only 5am and far too early to be up! Come to find out, DS8 had coughed so hard that he barfed in his bed..... So, commence cleaning, change his sheets, tuck him back in (I use a lavendar scented cleaning spray so the room smelled normal). At 6:00, I hear someone upstairs again. Then I hear paper towels being torn off the roll. DS8 has coughed up again, but just a little, and on the floor, so he's attempting to clean it up himself! He actually did manage to take care of it, but I go down there to find the lights on and now DS6 is wide awake. I send him upstairs to the spare bedroom, put DS8 back in bed for a 2nd time, and I go flop on the couch utterly exhausted....

There is nothing like having your sleep interrupted that many times in the wee hours of the morning to really screw up your day!

Oh, the stuffed animal: wash the bejeebers out of it the best you can. Then pick up some Febreeze fabric spray and use that several times until the smell goes away.

.

My son had a stuffie that also was a member of the vomit club and he ended up being cleaned by a can of spot carpet cleaner. It worked wonders on his do not wash me in the washing machine hair and he actually smelled better than he had in years. My son now 16, still has him by the way. Although he does not sleep with him he also has not put him in the save for when I have kids to show how lame I was box.

GOOD MORNING YA'LL

Good Morning ladies... (umm... I always assume everyone is except for this one person that has a pic of a man with green ears on her signature and I assume she is a he)...

going to be another hot day here. I hope all the little ones are better. There is a 24 hour stomach thing going around. My oldest got it during the week but so far (hear the knocking on wood?) all of us are fine and dandy.

We will probably hit the pool. I am still sunburned from Tuesday in a couple of spots and have a couple of blister-like sores so I shall cover up a bit.

Good morning everyone!

Hey, my ticker is on exactly 3 months!!
woohoo-022.gif

We're in for another scorcher today! It did cool down nicely overnight, though. I put the big fan in the front window and let it suck in that overnight air. So it's cool in here, for now. I think we're going to put the A/C in the window today.

Other than that I'm not sure of our plans. DH has his once-every-13-days day off today. We were headed north but with DS8 not feeling well yesterday, we may stick closer to home.

GOOD MORNING YA'LL

This is odd. I just wanted to put a blank post and instead I brought Smiley's Good Morning with me again. I guess it needed said again. Happy Sunday Morning to you all.

We have 3 more days of school left. I am very happy about that but it does bring a bunch of obligations from the committees and stuff I am on. My oldest still has one more project that is due and it is a math project and there is no way I can help him really. It was so complex that he had to schedule a meeting with his math teacher to explain how he was using such a math concept for it. She is retired from Nasa and was amused at his creativity with it. But it is a doozy of a project. He also has to do a speech for graduation night (which is Kindergartners graduating to 1st, 6th graders graduating to Middle school, and 9th graders graduating to head of the school. Our 10th graders were supposed to be the 1stt graduating class from the school. We had an embezzlement thing from the financial person and we barely kept the school from closing but could not add the next grade. So all of our 10th graders are going back to home schools and most will be split up from one another and forced to attend school somewhere new.)

Did you miss my babbling? :lmao: :lmao:

He's not around much but don't forget Master Gracy!! (actually, does anyone remember if he spells it Gracy or Gracey??....because I know there is one of each on here!)

Speaking of MG, we're waiting to see your final art project! :rolleyes1

All my screen just made everything big too so it doesn't fit all in one view. Maybe my computer is saying I am old. hmm... guess this is time to fight with it.
