I know Mean Queen's headed for Disney this weekend; anyone else have any holiday weekend plans?

My cold is better but not gone. Now DS8 has it, too... Lovely! Not sure how that will play out for our camping trip. Right now I'm thinking maybe he and I will head up Sunday morning and just do one night, and DH can take the other two tomorrow as planned. It's good for dads and sons to have Guys Night Out once in a while anyway, right?!...
Oh no... I hope your son feels better soon. And I think it is a good thing for you to day camp and not push yourself

I'm meeting my brother at the house he is buying at 8:30am to do a walk through. The closing is at 9:30 and then the major scrubbing of the giant ashtray begins. My kids have the day off from school today so they are going to help. Wouldn't you know it, the only time we don't go camping for Memorial Day weekend and the kids have a workshop today. I always had to pick them up early. I drove by the house at 10pm last night and the guy that has been living there since his father died, was standing in the doorway. He was still there! I hope he is gone this morning like he is supposed to be. He is know around town for losing every job he's ever had and mouching off his family. He moved into this house when his Dad died. We have had so many people comment about trying to get him out. They would say good luck getting him out of there, he doesn't want to leave his free place to stay. Cross your fingers.

We don't really have any plans. My DD has been at a beach house all week with friends and won't be home until monday. We may go to my Nieces lake house one day. We had some pretty serious storms this past week and we have a tree down in the front yard that has to be cleaned up as well as a lot of limbs.

Looking forward to the long weekend. The BF and I are hoping the forecast for Monday is right as we have plans to had down to Bretton Point in Newport, RI (about 25min. from our house in Southeastern, MA) and spend the day with a blanket and the sun...and the 758 other people who have the same idea as us! Right now I'm hearing sunny and 80 for Monday, though I'm sure it'll be cooler by the ocean where we'll be.

As for me, I am waiting on my family to get here right now. They left Florida at like 530 am so they should be here in the next hour or so.

Not that I would know of this personally, as I am tagless still, but under your name when you see a colored, sometimes scrolling, little phrase, it has been put there by the tag fairy and is normally something you have said on a board and they take a piece of it and "tag" you with it. It usually happens at night, and doesn't happen if you really, really want one.

Oh don't let that mean anything to you. Some get tags right away and others like me seem to always be at the right place in the wrong time or has somehow gotten themselves on the DO NOT TAG LIST by mistake.

I spent a year on the cruise boards basically in one thread and the tag fairy gets seasick and doesn't visit there.

Silly boy. He'll learn to love Disney or at least accept your love of it, if he knows what's good for him.

He accepts my love for it well enough. He just likes to tease. A lot. He's unfortunately inherited the "JERK" gene somehow. I think it's sometimes coupled with that Y chromosome.

Keep working on him. A man can be swayed by his woman!.... Trust me, I know.

My feminine wiles have been useless thus far. I shudder to think of the "debt to be repaid" when I finally do get him to join me on a trip to the World.

And that's all I'll say about that.

Hey LegoMom. I'm working on my trip plans. I can't stand that the park calendars for Nov/Dec haven't been posted yet. What are your plans? I'm waiting on Mean Queens review on the Yak and Yeti. Have you by chance pre ordered the 2009 copy of passporter? I know questions are disjointed. But I have faith that you can answer them anyway.

My 2 year old is beginning to understand the concept of "We're going to Disney." We mentioned we were going this weekend and now she thinks we're on our way each time we get in the car. I went to lunch with her today and she was very upset when it wasn't "Didney." I told her we're going tomorrow with Daddy and Sissy. She said "I wanna go Didney with you!!!!" I told her I will go too. I then asked who she wants to see at Disney and she said "Pluto, Kickey, Mimmie, Goofy, and Nonald Nuck." Now she's throwing stuff in our suitcase saying, "I'm packin for Didney!" I better go check what she put in there.

Our plans are a bit more structured this time, actually. We're not park hopping, so we had to plan which days we wanted to be a which parks, and then plan ADRs on top of that! Some people can't do that, but I love that much planning!! Basically, we have 2 days for Epcot, 2 days for MK, and one each for the Studios and AK. There is one more day in there but it's formally set aside as a day off, and we'll see what everyone feels like doing on that day.

For ADRs, we are doing the following:
Tues. 9/9 - dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe
Wed. 9/10 - lunch at Sci-Fi
Thurs. 9/11 - breakfast at Crystal Palace (getting in before Rope Drop!! )
Friday 9/12 - Hoop-de-Doo!
Sat. 9/13 - dinner at Boma
Sun. 9/14 - dinner at Garden Grill
Mon. 9/15 - dinner at Chef Mickey's

Oh well that did it....now I'm all excited and giddy again!

No, I have not pre-ordered the '09 PassPorter. We won't be going in '09 (unless we manage to move there and get APs!) so I won't get another version until I know for certain when we'll go back.

Oh yeah...I did move my ressi to POR. What are of the Mansions buildings do you think is the best? If anyone else has anything to add I would love to hear your oppinions.

I don't know any detail on the different Mansions buildings, but they are all just gorgeous and all of them are quite convenient to the pool and food court. Actually, if you go to www.portorleans.org and click the Maps & Directions button on the left, there is a link on that page for a resort map and also some aerial views of the property! Allearsnet says that Oak Manor is closest to the main building/food court.

When we ever get down there, one of the things I want to do with the kids is Star Wars weekends. Just once! They'll love it.

Exhausted and my body aches. Can't wait to get up in the morning, head to my brothers new house and start cleaning again. I'm so tired I don't know how I'm going to settle down.

Well the loser is gone but he left MANY garbage bags on the front porch. He also left 2 truck doors in the driveway, small couch inside and some other crap. We threw the couch outside but it was heavy for me to move b/c it is one that makes into a bed. At the closing we spoke to the guys brother who is handling the estate and he said he called someone to pick the stuff up by tomorrow. It was not picked up all day so hopefully it will be tomorrow. There is so much garbage outside it looks terrible. I'm so tired I'm not even sure if I am making any sense. My brain is on hold. Let me just say the bathroom was NASTY.
