Hey, how did you guys come to be here, on the DIS?

I'm just realizing, I have no idea how I found this place! I'm guessing I read about it, maybe in the Unofficial Guide or something? But, I've been here since '04!

There's another message board I post on. It's mostly for parenting boards, but there is a Disney related board too. This board was mentioned, so I checked it out. Because of the Dis reputation for being tough, I lurked for a bit before jumping in. I learned quick to never get in a discussion about pool hopping, chair hogging, refillable mugs, or sneaking a child in past their age limit. I'm learning what other discussions to avoid slowly.

It was okay. I especially liked David H and David A. Everyone else was blah. Let's see what the girls can do.

Those were my favorites too. Though I liked David Cook (I think, it seems everyone is named David.) The video they showed of David A and the original AI group makes me wonder if producers kept their eye on that kid until he was of age then had him audition. He truly is a great talent, I can't imagine it was just sheer luck that he auditioned so many years later.

LegoMom3, love your story. Maybe someone should give him "Disney for Dummies". I can't imagine spending all that money to go to Disney and not research it just a little.

Me either! But, I think he's really doing it for his daughter, and because his wife would be down there anyway for her business thingy. You feel sorry for the uninformed, in a way, but you also know what a shocker they're in for!! ...and I just can't help but chuckle to myself. I dunno, I must just be a planner (well, aren't we all, here on the DIS?!!). Even my very first trip to WDW, I bought Birnbaum's Official Guide to Walt Disney World and read it cover to cover (back when he was still alive and actively involved in the book; I don't care so much for it lately).

I hope, at the very least, this guy from work will pick up a Park Map and Times Guide when they get there!

Barbie broke my computer and I don't know how to fix it. My DD (almost 2) threw a Barbie at me. It hit my laptop and hit a few keys in the process. Whatever it hit turned off the address bar and status bar when I'm on internet explorer. I have no clue what to hit to fix it. I'm thinking of throwing another Barbie at the computer to see if that works. If not, I can always try this.

I've been randomly pushing buttons all day and haven't found the right one. I wouldn't mind this except it doesn't show when I get new messages on Yahoo. Otherwise, I kind of like the extra space.

So who do you think is going tonight? I'm hoping Cruella De Ville, I mean Amanda Obermeyer goes. I liked her at first, but she's a one trick pony. Kady may also be gone. For the boys, I think the one with the white streak (Steve?) is out.

What? You don't think it's "THE BEST SEASON OF AMERICAN IDOL EVER!!!!!!!!! (ever, ever, ever)" like Ryan keeps saying over and over again? I wonder if they think repeating it will convince us. I do think David A. is one of the best I've seen on any season, so far. He's young and could easily fold under the pressure.

I'm watching a bunch of Disney shows on The Travel Channel! They're in Animal Kingdom right now; the show has been updated since the last time I saw it. Next hour is the Disney Cruise Line (I'll catch some news for a bit, since I've seen that show and really have no interest in a cruise, even if it is Disney!.... ). Then after that it's the Behind the Scenes show at 7pm!

Other than that I'm sitting here waiting for MORE SNOW..... and another 5-10" at that. Madness, I tell you.

No interest in a Disney cruise? Wow. I'd live on a Disney cruise if I could.

I just got back from a Girl's Night Out at the Melting Pot. I'm so full I can hardly move. My friends laughed because I love fondue so much I make happy noises and dance while eating it.

We're running to MK tomorrow. I'm going to try to get the first haircut for my little one. I originally planned to let her hair grow out one length, but the bangs are driving her nuts. I hope it's not too busy.

I recorded those shows and my daughter and I watched them today. She was so excited. Up until now, she was not sure what the world was all about. Now its all she can talk about. I love how her face lights up when she talks about it. She is almost as excited as I am.

I've never used the email notification function. I use the Subscribed Threads list to see new posts.

Ok, not so funny here at my house this morning and my resolve to move south is stronger than ever. We're having ice damming on the roof again. There's a big water stain on the ceiling of the living/dining room and its dripping. I had to call DH home from work last night and he went up with the last bit of daylight and cleaned off some snow. Today he's going back up, along with my BIL and FIL, to try to clear it off entirely. He's also cutting the two trees outside the den window.... ....because they are blocking the sun from reaching that part of the roof, and thus melting snow off. We are expecting heavy rain on Tuesday night, which you would think is a good thing, to melt snow, but its not good for snow on roofs! We also discovered mold and mildew up in the attic last night, on the underside of the roof sheathing. So guess who's replacing their roof this spring.... It needed it anyway but we were hoping to just allow for it in the selling price of the house. Not with the mold. Any house inspector that sees that will be all over it. So this probably means no Disney trip this year, which is a huge bummer, yes, but if I can get this house ready to sell and be able to move to Florida that much sooner, I'll make up for it with a set of APs next year!!

So that's my sob story for the day. Anyone else got one?!!

Time for me to shower so I can run up to Dunkin Donuts; gotta keep the crew warmed up and well fed!!
