Anyone around tonight?

I'm watching "Modern Marvels" on the History Channel, about the building of the railway and later the highway that connects the Florida Keys to the mainland.... It looks SO warm!

I'm here!! Just finished watching "The Game Plan" with The Rock. Cute movie - totally Disney. :thumbsup2

I'm dying here. We went out for Japanese and I stuffed myself. I swear my stomach is so full I look pregnant again. But boy was that food good. I was watching the Price is Right. Some guy won a million dollars and both of the showcase prizes by being less than a thousand away from the retail price.

I was very productive yesterday. I now only have about 2 more pages to write before my thesis is complete. That puts me one step closer to getting to go on vacation during my spring break in a few weeks. And I didn't even need any higitus figitus Mickey magic to get it done either. :wizard:

You're putting us to shame here Donald. Getting a thesis done while we watch TV. I have quite a bit of work to get done and I've been putting it off for the past week. But it won't get done today. I'm off to run errands in this bleary, dreary day.

I'd rather have bleary, dreary over cold and nasty. How's everyone doing? I worked today a full eight hours.

Still haven't worked on my thesis yet. I have zero motivation. I did laundry all morning. After lunch DD and I watched The Jungle Book and Aristocats, then we both fell asleep. I'm cooking dinner now. Other than that I've been trying to learn how to draw Disney characters using a book DW got me for Valentine's Day. I have no artistic ability whatsoever, but I've actually been able to draw some things that vaguely resemble Mickey and Donald.

That's funny LegoMom3, I watched the same thing last night. It was interesting, wasn't it? How's the weather there? Warm but VERY windy here.

How interesting that you are trying to learn to draw Disney characters. Is this for a special project?

No, I've just always wanted to learn how to draw, so I figured I would start with Disney characters. I'm a little embarrassed to say the book I got is for kids, but I'm a total beginner and I had to start somewhere.

Good morning! Tonight is Oscar Night. I love the Academy Awards! In fact, I told DH I would like to star having an Oscar party similar to what people do for the SuperBowl. He thinks the Oscars are completely boring. I feel the same way about football. :p

I have a busy day today ... lunch with the inlaws at 11:00 and bowling afterwards. Once I cut out of there I have five or six errands (hair, nails, etc.) There goes my weekend.

We got that book for DD a few years ago. The Princess one was very hard and she gave up. I think it's a great book for kids or adults.

I'd go to an Oscar party! I can picture a red carpet, flashing bulbs, and beautiful dresses while everyone eats fancy finger foods and comments on the dresses.

I'm going to get a pedicure with DD today. I should get my booty in gear.

It's sunny and above freezing today so the snow and ice is melting like crazy! Melt, baby, melt!! We're getting into that up-and-down weather pattern typical of late winter in New England - you get around 30 degrees for a few days, then up above 40 for a few days, then back down. We've had some pretty consistent "warm" days and cold nights, though, which is perfect for maple sugar season. The farmers had a lousy year last year, so I'm sure they're hoping for better!

So, I'm home alone today! DH and the boys are down visiting the cousins in MA. I wasn't feeling too great when I got up (the kids all had a cold last week) so I opted to stay home. I've got 6 hours to crank up the ol' Live365 tunes and do some scrapbooking! I have no plans to watch Oscar tonight. Never been into that much. But then again, I'm the gal who goes out barefoot to tend her garden in the summer...

Hey, they changed the smilies that I see right over here to the right of my post! Some of the ones you used to have to dig out by clicking "more" at the bottom, are right there now. Like this guy: :faint: And this one: :crazy2: Hmm, that's interesting.

My DD8 now wants to do an Oscar night, though she never heard of it before today. They were showing all the pre-Oscar stuff on E! while we were at the salon getting pedicures. So now I have to think up a fancy menu for dinner.

DW bought the princess book and the fairies book for herself. They do look hard, but she is a quite a talented artist so she was up for the challenge. :artist: I, on the other hand, am still learning how to draw a decent circle. :lmao:

In between all my drawing, doing housework, reading for pleasure, watching Disney DVDs, browsing message boards, and planning a trip to Tennessee, I somehow managed to finish my thesis and send it off to my mentor. Now if I could only get a visit from the Tag Fairy, I'd be all set. :rotfl:

Maybe if you wrote a thesis on the Tag Fairy they would grant you a tag.

Seeing as how my thesis is about different types of mental illness, I don't think the Tag Fairy would appreciate that too much. :lmao:

Could Tag Fairy obsession be considered a mental illness? Maybe you can consider it a perseverative behavior or an obsession bordering on stalking. Just about anything can be considered a mental illness if you try hard enough.
