G'day all! Amusing story: I'm the certified Disney fanatic in our house, although DD3 isn't far behind (I'm training her well ;) ). DW has always enjoyed WDW, but has never been as "obsessed" with it as me. Then today she turns to me and says, "December seems like such a long time to wait to go back to Disney World" (referring to our annual WDW vacation). I think she's slowly turning to our side. I guess she forgets how miserable she was during the heat last summer at WDW, but she's mentioned wanting to go back this summer instead of going to the beach. :woohoo:

DeterminedOne, No splat today. I agree with Mean Queen. You must have a magical splat. I haven't been to Vegas in years. I love it there, though. The adults great big playground. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time. Shopping is great, shows are fabulous, and the food, well, don't get me started on the food.

Keep it up, you're doing a great job! :thumbsup2

I also forgot to mention that she's softening on her "No, we're definitely NOT moving to Florida once we finish grad school" stance (she hates the heat) to "Well, we'll either move to Tennessee or Florida, I haven't decided yet." :rotfl:

Mean Queen, I love nursing. I can't imagine doing anything else. Yes, the hours can be long, but when you work 12 hour shifts, you only work 3 days a week. The pay is pretty good, too. I can raise my daughter and live comfortably. Who could ask for anything more. Your friend may be able to find a job with 8 hour shifts. I prefer having the extra days off, though. Also, you have so many choices as a nurse. You do not have to work in a hospital. If you want a normal schedule, you could work in a clinic or MD's office or school nursing. Anyway, did I mention I love being a nurse.

No, I have never stayed at AKV. This is only my 2nd time to the World. The first time was off property for 2 days during a land/cruise trip. I've booked a studio savannah view. My DD loves animals, and I know she will flip when she sees where we are staying. Honestly though, I'm so much more excited than she is.
Have fun with the inlaws.

Tell me about it. Last trip we wanted to try one of the most popular buffets and ended up at two - Paris for Breakfast and Bellagio for dinner. Both were scrumptious. Although, some of the selections at Bellagio were over the top. We also wanted to try one of the cheap steak dinners advertised pretty much in every hotel. We ended up at Kady's restaurant at Riviera where we had the $10.99 T-bone. It was delicious and even came with choice of potato and side salad. I think about it every time I pay double the price at the local steak house. We had plans to try In and Out Burger, but the limo driver talked us into Fat Burger instead, which was just okay. For this next trip we will make eating as much a part of the trip as gambling, shopping and sightseeing

Hey LegoMom3, how did it go with the in-law's today?:rolleyes1

Now I'm hungry. I guess I'll go have a sandwich and pretend it's steak. :rotfl: Where will you be staying in Vegas and for how long? Do you have any shows lined up?

Right now we are leaning toward Paris or Mirage, but more toward Paris. I desire to stay at Caesar's again but DH is adamant about staying someplace different. As far as shows we are strongly considering Zumanity. I've read great things about Love, The Beatles Cirque show, but I don't know if I appreciate them enough to sit through an entire show of their music. We also want to see a true Vegas Showgirl show, which we have never done before. I've done research on Folies Bergere at Tropicana and Ooh La La at Paris. :)

I'd love to go to Vegas again. But without anyone to watch the kids overnight, we're out of luck for awhile. There are so many cool shows to see, amazing places to eat, and fun places to gamble.

Actually, not bad at all. We managed to avoid all "sticky" conversation and just have a nice time. One of MIL's very close friends just died from cancer so we talked about that a bit, too.

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!! :lmao:

Hey Smiley! :wave2:

Ok, so talk has recently begun to turn to not selling the house this year after all. We'd just wait it out and try again in spring '09. And I'm diggin' this idea! I think we've just been living in limbo for so long that the idea of knowing where we'll be for the next 12 months is really nice!

We have until March 10th to make a final decision.

I soooo understand about living in limbo. It's hard.

Hi Smiley - good to see you back around these parts. :)

So my work day was weird ... :rolleyes1

And when I left for the day she was in a closed door meeting with the plant

manager. :confused3

I was finally able to catch up with the HR manager. He said they want me

badly but had to wait for "her" to come back because there's going to be

some pretty big changes regarding the office and her shift. He said the goal

is to get me there by next week. I said fine, but someone better start talking

money or they will be disappointed if I don't take the job because of money.

I didn't tell him that part but you know what I mean? :scared: DH told me I

shouldn't worry about it and if they want me badly enough they will give me

what I ask for.
