Hello everyone - what's happenin'?

Yesterday was nice. Me and DH both had a day away from work. We went to

Bob Evans for breakfast and our fave wing restaurant for dinner. :cool2:

We watched a movie -- Jodie Foster in "The Brave One". Have you seen it?

Not bad if you like her but the story line is a little weak. JMO

......................................................................

I just wanted to check in and say hello.

Mean Queen - how are you doing today?

Good morning! :wave2: Another nice sunny but frigid day here in the north! I have to go throw sand on our driveway. Or!...I could charge admission and let people come ice skate on it! :rotfl:

After that I'm heading to Michael's for scrapbooking supplies and Best Buy for a new microwave.

Thinking warm thoughts....pixiedust:

I guess I shouldn't mention to you Northerners that it's going to be in the 80's here today? Yeah. 80's. I may have to turn the AC on. Then on Monday, it dips down to the 70's and Tuesday one day in the 60's before going back up to a high in the high 70's. Strange weather.

I got DH Guitar Hero III for the Wii for Valentine's. We've been having lots of fun playing that. It's not easy either.

:grouphug: From us to the campus and community.

Ditto from me... :grouphug:

And welcome to our little place on the DIS! Congrats on making Mouseketeer - one day before you know it, a nice shiny new and colored tag will magically appear in that very space! Just be sure to say lots of goofy stuff and put your foot in your mouth and all that....the Tag Fairy loves that stuff!

Hey, Mean Queen!....I went to the nearest Target today, and discovered they have a Starbucks right inside the store!

.

Not much, just trying to relax as much as I can. We'll probably watch some Disney DVDs or play Wii. My wife and I are grad students at NIU so things have been kinda crazy the past 2 days.

That must have been so scary for everyone.

So what Wii games do you play? We just got Guitar Hero III and have been going nuts. We're actually having friends over tomorrow and are making them bring their Wii guitar to play doubles. We'll just throw the kids some scraps of pizza while the adults play.

I've gotten to know the barista at our Target Starbucks more than anyone. She's the one that tells me the best flavor mixes to try, gives me tips on new flavors coming, and always has a little cup of ice for my little one (so she feels like she's not left out.) Don't waste your time on the Skinny flavors. They taste okay at first, but then leave a horrible after taste.

My co-worker's boyfriend just got that and she says he is so addicted!! He played for hours one night, then she woke up at 6:30 the next morning to hear the sound of it once again... :rotfl:

We just got Dance Dance Revolution and it's fun for the whole family. Our DD3 also likes Wii Sports (especially bowling), but my wife and I enjoy Paper Mario and Resident Evil (only at night after DD is in bed).

Earlier today I watched the Ub Iwerks documentary on the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit set. Right now, they're both sleeping. Hmm, I wonder if the two are related; I thought the doc. was interesting at least. :rotfl:

Now it's off to wash dishes and make dinner for everyone. My Wii will have to wait until later.

I think I'd love DDR. But I doubt DH would. He's doing great at Guitar Hero, I'm okay. My DD8 isn't so good, but she's trying hard. I got through most of Paper Mario, but got too tired to fight the Count. That was months ago and I haven't gone back. :confused3 Our family favorite right now is Rayman Raving Rabbids 2. But I only recommend it if you like crude humor, like burping, farting, and slapping kids in the back of the car. :lmao:

Hey the splat is back!! Does that deserve a dancing banana?....

Mean Queen - that is SCARY! Glad your safety features worked. I've never had it happen to me personally, but my late step-mother (before she married my dad) had that happen in her condo and I was with her when she came home and found the place broken into. She was really shaken up.

Kids are back to school today but I have another day off! A big shipment of supplies was delayed at an airport yesterday due to the weather so there's really nothing we can do until it arrives (which should be today sometime). I'll have to get outside and help DH chip away at the other end of the driveway and our mailbox (no mail yesterday 'cause the box was buried!!).

So, blueeyesrnc, tell us a little about yourself! I live in NH (for the moment...see "location" under avatar....!), have 3 DS's (and one DH :rotfl: ) and work part-time for a hat-box company. I am holding onto my sanity through this nightmare of a winter by planning our next WDW trip coming up in September! :cool1:

.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I've been away for a few days working my you know what off. My poor, poor you know what. :charac2: I'm an RN. Can you guess which specialty? I work 12 hour shifts that usually turn into 14+ hour shifts. I have a DD9. We live in Texas. Nice and warm here. I'm planning a trip to AKV from July 2nd through the 14th. Can't wait!!!:yay:

LegoMom3, I know nothing about living in that kind of climate. I had a brief visit in Chicago once, and there was a lot of snow and it was 20 below with the wind chill. NO FUN. I live in the desert. Great weather most of the time.

DeteminedOne, I can see your splat again. How have you been?

Mean Queen, terrible news about your dad's house. Thank goodness everyone is OK. Scary to think it may be someone you know.

Hey Blue. Nurses ROCK!! :thumbsup2 Fourteen hour work days? Well, you certainly deserve a Disney trip this summer. :)

I am planning a trip to Vegas this October. We're deciding where to stay and think we have it narrowed down to Paris and Mirage. I would love to stay at Caesar's again but haven't been able to talk DH into it.

By the way all, I still can't see the splat.

Oh great, now I can't see the splat again this morning!! :headache: Yeesh....

The in-laws are coming for a visit this afternoon. I'm not as excited about that as I might be. Probably because we have a few things going on that I know will elicit unwanted advice and involvement in our business where it shouldn't be!

Oh well....

.

I see the splat again. Odd. I guess instead of a blinking tag, you have a magically disappearing and reappearing one. :teleport: Or, maybe we need these again. :3dglasses

BLUE - 14 hour shifts would stink, especially doing something as hard as nursing. I have a friend going back to school to become a nurse. I think she's nuts. The school is tough for a mom of 3, I can't imagine when she actually has to start working those shifts. Have you stayed at AKV yet? We've gone a few times, once in a 1-bedroom and twice in a studio. They are so beautiful and the Savannah views really make it worth the points.

LEGO- Good luck with the in-law's. I'm meeting with mine today too. Luckily, it's at a restaurant so it won't be long.
