It was a GREAT parade.....just how I remembered it. Eric lovingly taped it for me with our new flip video camera. It's over 20 minutes long so I won't post it here, but I will treasure having it so I can watch it whenever I want!

After the parade, we moved around towards the front of the castle & found a pretty good spot for Wishes!

We had a fantastic day in the Magic Kingdom!!!! So glad we were able to spend some time in the happiest place on earth together.
We headed for the buses & had to wait about 15 minutes for a bus & then had to stand OF course. Disney buses are usually frigid, but I burned up on that bus that night. Maybe too much body heat or something. Before too long, we were back at CSR.....had a diet coke & a snack, showered & packed our stuff. Then crashed as we had to meet the rest of the group at 7 to head to the airport.

The next morning, we all headed to MCO & got breakfast to eat at the gate. I spotted something so wonderful as I was eating my breakfast at a kiosk across the way.......something I had been missing & wanting since we had left on Wednesday. It was like the holy grail to finally get this baby!

I was quite happy & content after finally getting to have a Diet Mtn Dew. Our flight was fine & soon we were back home in Tennessee.

We really had a great time on this quick get away trip. We were thrilled to get to go to Disney for the conference & hope we might get to do it again in the future. CSR was a great resort........beautiful place with a great ambiance. Being DVC members, we usually stay in DVC resorts so it was nice to stay in a non DVC property & get to try it out. We really liked Rix Lounge there & said we would not mind at all staying there again if the opportunity presented itself. I loved my Disney Institute tour experience, but did find myself missing Eric when I was out & about on my own because I am so used to sharing my Disney obsession with him! Traveling with the group from Eric's work was pretty fun. We all got together for a few nice dinners but still had alone time so that was nice.

Our big conclusion when we were driving home from the airport, was that we really enjoyed having a casual sort of not planned Disney get-away. We talked alot about how great it would be to just take some spontaneous, unplanned fly by the seat of our pants Disney trips in the future!
So, my breaking new is............
Last Friday, my DH called & said how about we go to Disney next weekend, if we can get cheap airfare & a room????
So Friday night we checked it out & Saturday am booked air fare on Allegiant for 75$ each round trip & I called DVC to see what kind of rooms they had. We got a Boardwalk Studio for 2 nights.
So I can't believe it, but we leave tomorrow for a last minute spontaneous trip to WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I promise to report how it goes when we get back!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Melanie, I loved your pictures of the parade. I'm going to miss that while we're there next week (it doesn't run any of our nights).

And lucky you that you are going back already for a quick weekend. What a sweet hubby. I just wish it was NEXT weekend you were going and we could meet.

I'm so happy that you enjoyed your stay at the CSR. One of these days, we want to stay at the AKL and the BC, but for now we are quite happy with CSR.

Can't wait to hear about your mini trip. :)

Lucky you! I can't believe you are going again! It probably wasn't a problem getting cheap tickets since this isn't the busy time of year down there.

I can't wait to see the Electric Light Parade! Brian wants to know what camera you used to take the pictures and what setting was it on? I told him that he has to take pictures of this parade and they have to turn out or I will be mad! I can't wait to hear about your newest adventure!

The parade was so much fun & so nostalgic. I'm sorry you are going to miss it.
I have the best husband EVER! It would be great to meet up.........maybe in the future!

I can't believe it either. We talked alot about it, but I didn't know if we would actually do it!
I bought a new camera before our WDW trip last October. A girl I work with showed me her pics & I played with her camera & decided I really liked it so I bought it. It is a Canon Powershot SX10IS & I love it! I played with the settings abit during the parade. I started out in auto but things were blurring so I changed to the sports setting with the flash off & that seemed to work the best so that was what I stuck with. It's hard to decide what to use at night for sure, but I was pleased with most of the shots I got.

:worship: You lucky girl! I so envy you and your Disney loving DH! :worship: Hope you guys have a fabulous time!

I love diet Mt. Dew too! Guess I might need to get a case when we arrive in FL!

Your pictures are amazing, what kind of camera do you use?

That burger at the Plaza looks yummy! :thumbsup2

YAY for the MSEP and Wishes...what a fantastic way to end your evening! :goodvibes

Lucky, lucky, lucky!!! Have a MAGICAL trip!!! :woohoo:

I know there will be two parades while we are there. I told Brian that we will have to play with the camera and hit both parades if we need to get the best pictures. We were originally signed up for the ABD trip that was a week after the one we did. So we were supposed to see it then. Brian looked at your pictures and said that he saw these floats before. I told him that it must be nice that his parents took him to WDW so much he got to experience these things while I was stuck at home with my parents. Sometimes he takes the magic out of things  . I forgot to tell you, we are doing the D23 Sip and Stroll and Carrie will be there! I finally get to meet Lurkyloo!

Melanie, I'm happy you got to see ELP! The bugs are my fav, too :thumbsup2
I'm so excited for you to be able to do a non-planned trip !:yay:
