My son (15) is asking for an Air Soft kit for Christmas. I'm just not comfortable with it. I saw Tag Ball on a website and thought it might be a good alternative. Is anyone here familiar with it? Do the "sticky balls" hurt when they hit you?

And here I thought this thread was going to be about a party for the Tag Fairies. :(

I don't know tag ball, but I will say after being uncomfortable with airsoft that I researched quite a bit and gave in. It was fine. The plastic bbs sting, but the boys deal with it. The only possible injury I could find was if it hit the eye, and that injury was minor. To be certain, I insisted that the guys wear goggles or face masks when they played. Everyone seemed OK with that rule.

Air soft was actually a good group activity where kids that didn't play together normally were able to get together and do something.

Just thought I'd share my experience.

Just keep in mind, I don't know your son's age, in many college dorms air soft is considered a weapon. You can be suspended from campus where I go for having one in your possession!

Well, that's good to know. I have a six year old, as well, and I was hoping maybe the Tag Ball would be something he could play with his brother, but I think he's too little for airsoft.

Hmmm...I guess I'll have to think some more about the airsoft.

Ha! Sorry Tag Fairy. Maybe we can have a New Year's Eve Tag Fairy Ball.

We have 2 air soft guns, and if you are hit close range on open skin they can sting, but nothing compared to paintball or something like that. They're relatively harmless.

We use them mainly for target practice when we cant get to gun ranges, as our airsoft guns are the same make/model as the real handguns DH and I own.

:rotfl2: I thought this thread was going to be about the tag fairy finding a prom date! :goodvibes
