We are going to WDW the week before Easter 2012. Yes, it will be a madhouse but with a teacher schedule, what can we do....

Our schedule is looking like this:

Epcot
AK
Hollywood Studios
2 days of MK

We're not hellbent on making every attraction and I would rather have a good time and enjoy what we can see vs jam everything in.

Is there a reason not to schedule lunch as a TS at the parks? I do know I want to do Le Cellier for lunch at Epcot, Tusker House breakfast at AK....and the very last dinner will be Chef Mickey.

Are there any cons to doing Sci Fi for lunch at Hollywood Studios or taking the monorail over for lunch at a resort on MK days?

we took our grandkids when they were almost 5 and 2 and a half....and we did mostly buffets because of their age....But there is always the option of having one of your party get up and walk to the entry way at le Cellier and let the kids look around and then when the food gets there you could go back...I always think that Le Cellier is very kid friendly and we had no issues.......get some coloring booklets and crayons or little hand held games ( with no volume)...we made out okey...Also took them to the luau and had a great time.
Hope you enjoy the House of the Mouse..

i have traveled the "World" w/kids of various ages starting at 6mos and all the way up to, well, 89! and my best recommendation would be to skip the buffets and go for the family style meals... quick food, kid-friendly, no need to leave your table (as a mom of three, i was forever getting up to get someone something and coming back to my plate of cold food!)... i would recommend Garden Grill to see Mickey and Company and 'Ohana b'fast for Lilo/Stitch (and Mickey again)... definitely prefer GG over Chef Mickey's... those big GG booths are perfect for winding down whereas we always find CMs to wind our kids up!

as far as dining in the park you are in, i highly recommend it!! leaving to go to a monorail resort for a meal is extremely time consuming... not bad for b'fast before a park (esp if you have early risers) but mid-day, no way! LOL!

We were on the DDP with our 6, 4, and 2-year-old a few years ago. SciFi was a great experience for all of us. Kids loved the cars and theming and were quiet and watched the shows. A nice break for us. We liked the family-style character meal at Garden Grill more than the buffets too. At MK the kids liked the Plaza restaurant if you'd rather not leave the park. It's a bother getting from one place to another with the stroller and small kids, that's the only negative I can think of leaving to go to the monorail resorts, and I can only think of Ohana that might be worth it. Chef Mickey's was overcrowded and not so great; I'd stay in the park and do Crystal Palace over CM. Enjoy your trip!
