Table for only 3 at BOG?

We've added my niece to our upcoming August trip. We were a party of 3, now we are 4. I've tried to update our ADR for lunch at BOG through the MDE app, but it's not letting me add one more person to our ADR.

I'm wondering why it is so hard - I can only remember tables of even numbered seats at BOG. Are there ones that will only sit 3? Is that why we are having no luck adding just 1 to our party? I was just thinking we'd be sitting at a table for 4 anyways, and then there would be that empty seat.

If I'm not getting any options because MDE is restrictive, would it be better if I called instead? It's my niece's first trip to WDW, she's flying in from Europe, and she's a kid, not an adult. (Well, a Disney adult, but a kid in real life!) My last resort is to give her my spot, but will they let me check them in (it's my reservation, my CC) and then walk out?

Best option is to call and ask to make the change. (Please someone correct me if I am wrong), changing three to four is MUCH easier than changing two to three. A table for three is actually (I think) a table for four. So it's not a big deal to add a person. I don't think it changes the actual table size. Much different story to change from two to three because a table for two is a table for two. You would need a different table.

From discussions I've seen before it's not necessarily to do with how many people fit on a table, it's more to do with the fact that a only a specific total amount of people are allowed to book in a particular time frame.

You must call. There's no way to change it online, and they'll give you grief at the restaurant if you show up with more than the number on your reservation (but probably seat you anyway).

Sorry, temporarily forgot about the seat yourself nightmare at lunch. Must be a post-traumatic suppression. But I think it's still true that the restaurant will give you grief if you show up with 4 when your reservation says 3.

Absolutely. But it's not a matter of "well, you'd be seated at a 4-top anyway!" as far as adding a head. Their ADR system gives no mind to table sizing for Lunch.

Try going in to the reservation system to see if you can make a reservation for 1 around the same time you have the reservation for 3 (or call and ask them to check for you). Because you seat yourself, if you have ADR times close together, you can just go in at your ADR times, join up, order and sit together. We've done two walk-ups at BOG. Once I noticed a reservation for 1 available (we are a party of 2), so we walked up to see if we could get in and we did. The second time, we were walking by and thought we would give it a shot without an ADR. The CM looked at the crowd on the bridge, determined it wasn't crowded and handed us menus. I would certainly try to add to your reservation or try to get a reservation for 1, but, worst case scenario, simply nicely explain the situation to the CM and see what they say.

Thank you all - I will call, as BOG is such a great experience, and I want to be there when my niece sees the rose, etc. She's had a tough year, and I haven't seen her 3 years, so it's a special trip for both of us :)

BOG lunch is Quick Service. They do not "seat you." You find your own table.

They book to the seat capacity of the restaurant at B and L, without thought to table size. It is survival of the fittest finding tables.

You just reminded me of something. We were at MK on May 11 at BOG for lunch and we were not allowed to seat ourselves. Our receipt was handed to a CM and she escorted us to a table. She happened to take us to the room we wanted, so I don't know if we could have requested a specific room or not. I wondered if this was new or if maybe they were experimenting with changing the seating procedure at lunch. Just curious.
