Where are the best places to eat solo? I'm going for my birthday, and I'm going on the Deluxe Dining Plan, I have 18 credits I'd like to use all on Table Service I've already got planned:

The Plaza dinner on arrival night (it's a tradition, I can't break)
Princess Storybook-Breakfast
Tusker House-Lunch (Finding Nemo show)
Chef Mickey's-Dinner
Garden Grill-Dinner
Hollywood & Vine-Dinner (Fantasmic Package)
Tutto Italia-Lunch
Crystal Palace-Lunch or Dinner

That's 8 credits and so I have about 10 left.

Thanks.

signature dining, a few places have counters where you can eat and interact with the kitchen. Off the top of my head Jiko, CG (very limited) and Flying Fish have these available.

How friendly are you? Have you considered restaurants where you might be seated with others? Sci Fi or Biergarten come to mind

I'll have to look into those.

I'm very quiet and shy. I thought about putting Sci Fi on my list, since I love their BLT Soup, but didn't think I'd get seated next to someone else.

Teppen Edo. Yum Yum Yum.
I love Teppen Edo. I may have to put that on the list as well, and just make sure I get an end seat. I'm a bit claustrophobic and had an issue last time I ate there, when I got seated on the long row between two families.

If I were dining solo, I would consider:
Flying Fish
Chefs de France
Raglan Road

Just be aware that when you're seated with others, you might be seated next to a very UN-friendly person. That's what happened to me when I ate at Teppen Edo. I love Coral Reef (by the tank), Chefs de France (window table), and surprisingly, character meals, even if you're shy. I love sitting watching the characters interacting with the kids. And no one notices you unless you bear a striking resemblance to Mickey, Minnie or whoever they're looking for. And the characters are very in-tuned to people who don't want to be made a fuss over. At resturants with windows, etc., I find the check-in desk will be sure to seat a solo someplace "with a view" if you ask politely.
I almost forgot-Sci-Fi is a great choice also. Everyone's sitting watching the movie screen, sort of like eating in front of the TV at home!

I haven't dined at the other 2 but Les Chefs de France is a wonderful place to people watch, just ask for a window spot. You may have to wait a little extra but it's well worth it imo. That's what I love to do while dining solo.

My last two trips were solo for marathon weekend and before that I was an AP holder living in Tampa so I went solo all the time. Once you get a couple of restaurants out of the way you get used to it. There is not a single place I would feel weird eating now that I have done a few.

If you are shy though I would recommend the louder restaurants because you don't feel like you are being studies by the masses. San Angel Inn, Biergarten (even though you are seated with others they will spend some time watching the shows), Whispering Canyon, Crystal Palace, and Sunshine Seasons all come to mind.
